NRI/NRI Sponsored Seats Admission 2013

The eligible NRI/NRI sponsored candidates interested in taking admission to courses offered by the member NLUs having seats for NRI/NRI sponsored category candidates are required to apply through

Some of the universities (CNLU, Patna) admit the NRI candidates directly, others will do it through CLAT-2013

Admission Procedure: Admission to NRI/NRI sponsored candidates will be given on the basis of preference-cum-merit

University opted by the candidate in order of preference and the score obtained by him/her in CLAT-2013

If no NRI/NRI sponsored candidates are available on the last date of admission or some of the seats remain vacant, then the remaining vacant seats shall be filled on the basis of merit treating the vacant seats as unreserved seats

Application Form: The information furnished by the candidate in the application (offline or online) and affirmed through a declaration will be taken as final and would be processed for conducting the test and making allotment of seats based on preference-cum-merit of the candidate

At any stage of the examination/admission processes, if any information furnished by the candidate is found to be false, incorrect or misleading, the candidature/admission of the candidate will be cancelled without any further inquiry or notice

Accordingly, the NRI/NRI sponsored category of candidates will be required to submit the relevant certificates/documents issued by competent authority directly to the university and at the time of admission only

Certificates/documents to be submitted by NRI category of candidates

Mark sheet of the qualifying examination, if the board/university from which the candidate has passed his/her qualifying examination has awarded marks in grade system, the mark sheet must contain the conversion formula used for converting marks into grade and vice-versa;

Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from a county other than India are required to submit a certificate from the Indian Embassy/Indian Consulate or the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi, stating that the examination passed by the candidate is equivalent to the qualifying examination prescribed by various boards in India;

Proof of Nationality;

Certificate from Indian Embassy or Indian Consulate of the country where the Non-Resident Indian is residing must be submitted to the effect that the Father/Mother (or Legal Guardian, if none of the parents are alive) of the candidate or candidate himself is a Non-Resident Indian;

A true copy of the passport certified by Indian Embassy or Indian Consulate of the Country, where the Non-Resident Indian is residing; and

The Transfer Certificate and Character Certificate from the Institution last attended

Certificates/documents to be submitted by NRI sponsored category of candidates

The eligible NRI sponsored candidates interested in taking admission against NRI/NRI sponsored seats shall be required to submit following certificates/documents at the time of admission

The person who sponsors the candidate for admission should be a first or second degree relation of the candidate and should be ordinarily residing abroad as a Non-Resident Indian

If the candidate has no parents or near relatives as NRIs and he/she has been taken as a ward by some other NRI relative, such candidate may also be considered for admission provided the guardian has treated the candidate as a bona fide ward and such guardian shall file an affidavit indicating the interest shown in the education affairs of the candidate and also his relationship with the candidate and such person should also be a Non-Resident Indian and ordinarily residing abroad

Further, the NRI/NRI sponsored candidates are also required to submit the NRI sponsorship form (applicable only in case of NRI sponsored candidates) and other required documents (as applicable)
