National Law School (NLU) Bangalore announces Research Degree Programs Admission 2019

NLU Bangalore MPhil PhD LLD Admission 2019 - Applications are invited by National Law School of India University for admission to the following Research Degree Programs:

  1. M. Phil (1 year) Program
  2. PhD (3 years) (in Law) Program
  3. PhD (3 years) (interdisciplinary) Program
  4. LLD (3 years) Program
  5. By the Post Graduate Council constituted by the Vice Chancellor.

 

Courses, Duration and Eligibility Criteria for NLU Bangalore MPhil PhD LLD Admission 2019

For M.Phil Program (1 year)

  • Duration: Candidates are required to carry out research for a minimum period of one year from the date of registration, which includes residential requirement maximum period of three years.
  • Eligibility: Candidate shall have an LL.M degree from recognised university securing ‘B+’ grade or an aggregate of 55% marks or its equivalent.
  • Admission Procedure: Application along with the research proposal of about 10 to 12 pages to be submitted within the stipulated time.
  • The research proposal should contain; title; statement of the problem and the background information on the subject; a set of research questions along with Hypothesis and Methodology; a Research Design containing chapters.
  • Selection Process: The candidates will be selected by the PG council upon consideration of the report submitted by the expert panel on the presentation.

 

For LLD /PhD Degree Program

  • Duration: Candidates are required to carry out research for a minimum period of three years from the date of registration, which includes residential requirement maximum period of five years.
  • Eligibility for PhD in Law from a recognised university with minimum 10 years of teaching and exceptional academic achievement in the field of law.
  • Eligibility for PhD (Law): Candidate shall have an LLM degree from recognised university securing ‘B+’ grade or an aggregate of 55% marks or its equivalent
  • Eligibility for PhD (interdisciplinary): Candidate having a master’s degree in any discipline through regular stream with a minimum of 55% or equivalent grade and a bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognised university through regular stream shall be eligible.
  • Candidate having passed the Company Secretaryship exam conducted by the ICS in India and been awarded Associate Membership of the Institute (ACS) and having a bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognised university through regular stream shall be eligible.

 

Admission Procedure

  • Application along with the research proposal of about 10 to 12 pages to be submitted within the stipulated time; the research proposal should contain; title; statement of the problem and the background information on the subject; a set of research questions along with Hypothesis & Methodology; a research design containing chapters.

Selection Process

Fee Structure

  • Registration Fee Rs.25000/- Exam Fee (at the time of submission of dissertation) Rs.15000/- Continuation fee upto 2 years every year Rs.15000/- after the completion of first year Re-submission of dissertation Rs.15000/-.

  • Filled in application form along with a demand draft of Rs.3000/- drawn in favour of Registrar, NLSIU and payable at Bangalore, along with the Research Proposal and other necessary enclosures to the Registrar, NLSIU, Nagarbhavi, PB No-7201, Bangalore-560072 on or before 15th April 2019
