Goa Common Entrance Test Eligibility


Eligibility Criteria for Goa CET 2018

  • For admission to Professional Degree courses included in this prospectus, an applicant must fulfil the following criteria:

Nationality

  • Admission to professional courses in State of Goa is open to Indian nationals fulfilling the eligibility criteria under various categories. Non-resident Indians holding Indian passport may apply for seats reserved under NRI category. Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) /Persons of Indian Origin(PIO) cardholders are considered eligible for admissions to seats under NRI Category

 

Age Limit

  • An applicant to Degree courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Homoeopathy, Ayurveda, Allied Health Sciences and Nursing must have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the academic year of admission to become eligible for admission to First Year
  • No age limit, minimum or maximum, is specified for admission to Engineering and Pharmacy Courses

Valid Score at Entrance Test (GCET-2018 /NEET UG-2018 /NATA):

  • An applicant for Degree Courses in Engineering & Pharmacy, must have appeared and obtain valid score at the Goa Common Entrance Test GCET conducted by Govt. of Goa for the year of admission. GCET score of the previous year/s shall not be valid. For Medicine, Dentistry,BHMS(Homeopathy), BAMS(Ayurveda), Allied Health Sciences and Nursing Degree Courses, an applicant must have appeared and obtained valid score/rank at NEET UG-2018 conducted by CBSE
  • Minimum eligibility criteria and minimum qualifying valid scores as prescribed by Regulatory Authority guidelines, for merit list preparation, based on NEET UG-2018, shall be applicable
  • An Applicant for Degree Course in Architecture must have appeared and obtained qualifying score at NATA conducted by Council of Architecture

Qualifying Exam & Minimum Marks:

  • An applicant must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate Exam Of the Goa Board or an examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, or any other exam, which in scope and standard, is deemed to be equivalent to the H.S.S.C. Exam Of Goa Board, and must have obtained the minimum percentage of marks in the specific subjects, as prescribed for the admission to respective professional courses, as under

First Year MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, AHS & B.Sc. in Nursing
MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS & AHS

  • Applicant should have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (Std. XIIth) Exam Of Goa Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent exam with English and secured not less than 50% marks in the aggregate of subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken together(40% for the applicants belonging to SC/ST & OBC only and 45% for applicants belonging to PH category for MBBS and BDS Course)

B.Sc. in Nursing

  • Applicants should have passed HSSC (qualifying exam) in subjects of Physics, Chemistry,Biology and English, and obtained minimum 45% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology for General Category, (40% aggregate marks in subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology for candidates belonging to SC/ST and OBC category)

First Year B.E.

  • Applicant should have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std.XIIth) exam of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent exam with English, Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with one of the following subjects Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science /Biology, and secured not less than 45% marks in the aggregate of subjects of Physics & Mathematics with one of the following subjects Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology. (40% for the applicants belonging to SC/STand OBC only)

First Year B. Pharm

  • Applicant should have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std.XIIth) exam of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent exam with English, Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects with one of the following subjects Mathematics/Bio-Technology/Computer Science /Biology, and secured not less than 45%marks in the aggregate of subjects of Physics & Chemistry with one of the following subjects Mathematics/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology. (40% for the applicants belonging to SC/ST and OBC only)

First Year B.Arch.:

  • Applicant should have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std.XIIth)exam of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent exam with Mathematics as one of the subjects and secured at least 50% marks in aggregate(45% aggregate marks for applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC) or;
  • 10+3 Diploma (any stream) passed/appearing recognized by Central/State Govts with 50%aggregate marks with Mathematics or; International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling, with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as compulsory subject of exam
  • No direct lateral admission is allowed at any other year/stage of B.Arch. course based on any qualification

Kashmiri Migrants Only in Engineering Courses:

  • Applicant should have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std.XIIth)exam or its equivalent exam with English, Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with one of the following subjects Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology and secured not less than 45% marks in the subjects of Physics & Mathematics with one of the following subjects Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology

Admission of Eligible Diploma/B.Sc. Degree holders to First Year of Eng. /Pharmacy Degree Courses:

  • Candidates who have passed Diploma in Engineering /B.Sc. Degree with Mathematics as a subject at Std. XIIth, with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC), shall be eligible for admission to First Year of Engineering Degree Courses, subject to vacancies in First Year, after vacancies at Lateral Entry into Direct Second Year are exhausted
  • Merit list of such candidates shall be prepared on the basis of aggregate marks scored at qualifying exam
