A closer look at all the details associated with the Combined Biotechnology Entrance Examination (CBEE) - Eligibility, Application Form, Application Fee, and Important Dates.

The various key details associated with the forthcoming Combined Biotechnology Entrance Examination (CBEE) 2017, have been announced. To be administered by the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), CBEE 2017 will serve as the gateway to M.Sc Biotechnology program in a number of top universities across the country for the 2017-18 academic session (list of participating universities are mentioned on the bottom of this page).

Anyone who has completed graduation degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education in Physical, Biological, Agricultural, Veterinary and Fishery Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering/Technology, 4-years B.Sc (Physician Assistant Course); or Medicine (MBBS) or BDS with at least 55% marks are eligible to apply. Those who are appearing in their final year Bachelor’s degree exam in 2017 are also eligible to apply.

JNU CEEB 2017 Reservation: 15%, 7½% and 3% of seats shall be reserved for SC/ST & PwD candidates respectively; all the SC/ST & PwD candidates who have passed the qualifying exam are eligible to apply irrespective of their percentage of marks in the qualifying exam

JNU CEEB 2017 Application Procedure

Candidates can also download the Application Form from Website www.jnu.ac.inApplication Forms can be submitted only by Registered Post/Speed Post to Section Officer (Admissions), Room No.28, Administrative Block, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi-110067

The candidates are also required to produce all originals of the above certificates/documents for verification at the time of registration/admission. In the absence of any of the original certificates/documents, registration/admission shall not be allowed

Only those candidates who will be asked to exercise their option, the list/letter of these candidates will be available on JNU website www.jnu.ac.in although intimation to this effect is also sent to the candidates on their e-mail account. However, the candidates are advised to find out through their own sources whether their names appear in the list and thereby make arrangement for sending their final option together with initial security deposit by the stipulated date

The University will not issue any paper intimation to the candidates. Candidates are advised to regularly check JNU website for updates

Please do not send your application form through private courier services or any other postal mode except registered post/speed post

Exam Fee 

You have enclosed a Demand Draft drawn in favour of "Jawaharlal Nehru University" payable at New Delhi for the amount indicated below towards the entrance exam fee: 

i. General Category Candidates including OBC Candidates - Rs.1000/-

ii. SC/ST/PWD Category Candidates (PWD includes OH, VH and HH) - Rs.500/-

iii. Foreign Nationals US$ 40.00 or Rs.2640/-

Candidates will also need to pay an application fee for JNU 2017-18 admissions in online mode using Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking. Candidates after filling JNU 2017 application-cum-admission form need to take a print out of the filled-in application form for Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Examination (JNUEE/ JNUCEE) and refer the same in all future correspondences till JNU admissions for the year 2017-18

CEEB 2017 Selection Procedure

The selection will depend strictly on the basis of inter- se merit of the candidate in the Entrance Examination vis-à-vis preferences for joining the Universities indicated by the candidate. In case a candidate has not indicated his/her choice for joining a particular University, his/her name will not be considered for that University

Selection procedure will be as follows: After the merit list is drawn more than double the number of candidates than the total intake only will be informed of their merit rank in the entrance examination. The candidates will also be informed about the total number of seats in each participating University
