SCERT, Punjab announces Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) 2019

PSTET 2019 Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test - State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Punjab invites applications for Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test PSTET-I & PSTET-II 2019 for those candidates who want to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for classes I to V and VI to VIII.

 

PSTET 2019 Important Dates

  • Online Registration for PSTET 2018 starts on: 03rd Nov. 2019
  • Online Registration for PSTET 2018 ends on: 25th Nov. 2019
  • Correction in application form: 26th Nov. to 28th Nov. 2019
  • Admit Card available on website: 09th Dec. 2019
  • Examination Date: 15th Dec. 2019

Eligibility Criteria for PSTET 2019

  • Academic and professional qualifications as specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010.
  • Candidate pursuing any teacher education courses recognized by the NCTE or RCI specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010.
  • The eligibility is relaxed for the SC/ST/PH/OBC category candidates.
  • Qualifications for Class I to V (Primary Stage): The candidates should have passed their class 12th Exam or its equivalent with minimum 50% marks and passed or should be appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education; or Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002; or Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed); or Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)* or Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education
  • Qualifications for Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage): Candidates should have Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known); or Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.); or Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard; or Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed); or Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc. Ed or B.A. Ed/B.Sc. Ed; or Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)
  • The minimum qualification norms referred to in this Notification applies to teachers of Language, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science, etc.

PSTET 2019 Exam Pattern

  • In accordance with NCTE regarding Guidelines for the conduct of Teacher Eligibility Test, the time duration for Paper-I & Paper-II, has been mentioned as 01.30 hours in TET.

 

Paper I (for classes I to V); No. of MCQs 150
Structure and Content (All Compulsory)

  • Child Development and Pedagogy: 30 MCQs & 30 Marks
  • Language I: 30 MCQs & 30 Marks
  • Language II: 30 MCQs & 30 Marks
  • Mathematics: 30 MCQs & 30 Marks
  • Environmental Studies: 30 MCQs & 30 Marks
  • Total: 150 MCQ and 150 Marks

The questions in the tests for Paper I will be based on the topics prescribed for classes: IV, but their difficulty standard, as well as linkages, could be up to the secondary stage.

 

Paper II (for classes VI to VIII):No. of MCQ: 150
Structure and content :

  • Child Development and Pedagogy (compulsory): 30 MCQs & 30 Marks
  • Language I: 30 MCQs & 30 Marks
  • Language II: 30 MCQs & 30 Marks
  • Mathematics & Science: 60 MCQ & 60 Marks
  • Social Studies and Social Science: 60 MCQ and 60 Marks

PSTET 2019 Application Process

  • Eligible candidates can apply online only at www.educationrecruitmentboard.com

 

Step-1: Online Registration for PSTET

  • The eligible candidates shall apply on-line for the PSTET-I or PSTET-II or Both, at the website www.tetpunjab.com. It is suggested to candidates to carry recent testimonials, scanned photograph & signature with him/her while applying on-line, so that right information may be entered
  • Candidates who are interested for both PSTET-I & PSTET-II do not have to apply separately, only single registration is sufficient

 

Step-2: Uploading of Photo & Signature

  • It is mandatory for candidates to upload their recent colored passport size photograph and signature on the panel to complete the registration process successfully. Printing of confirmation page is not possible without uploading the photograph and signature
  • The photograph and signature must be less than 1MB in size

 

Application Fee

  • For General/ OBC candidates: Rs. 600/- (paper-1), Rs. 600/- (paper-2), Rs. 1200/- (Paper 1&2)
  • For SC/ST candidates: Rs. 300/- (paper-1), Rs. 300/- (paper-2), Rs. 600/- (paper 1 &2)
  • Ex Serviceman (self): No fee
