Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test notification 2018

PUNJAB TET 2018

State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Punjab invites applications for Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test PSTET-I & PSTET-II 2018 for those candidates who want be eligible for appointment as a teacher for classes I to V and VI to VIII


All those candidates who are interested and eligible for the PSTET 2018 they can apply for the PSTET-I and PSTET-II from PSTET Website www.tetpunjab.com
Dept. of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) hereby makes the following Amendments to the Notification

Important Dates for TET Punjab 2018

Online Registration Process Start: 3rd week of December 2018
Deposit of Fee (in bank): 4th week of December 2018
Date of PSTET-I (Morning) and PSTET-II (Evening) Exam: February 2019

 

Punjab TET 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Qualifications for Class I to V (Primary Stage):

  • The candidates should have passed their class 12th Exam or its equivalent with minimum 50% marks and passed or should be appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education; or Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002; or Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed); or Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)* or Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education

Qualifications for Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage):

  • Candidates should have Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known); or Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.); or Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard; or Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed); or Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc. Ed or B.A. Ed/B.Sc. Ed; or Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)

The minimum qualification norms referred to in this Notification apply to teachers of Language, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science, etc.


Structure of PSTET

  • Structure & Content of PSTET - All questions in PSTET test will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. There will be no negative marking.
  • There will be two papers of PSTET
  • Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
  • Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

Note: A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).

Duration of Exam

  • In accordance with NCTE regarding Guidelines for conduct of Teacher Eligibility Test, the time duration for Paper-I & Paper-II, has been mentioned as 01.30 hours in TET.
  • Paper I (for classes I to V); No. of MCQs 150
  • Structure and Content (All Compulsory)
    • Child Development and Pedagogy: 30 MCQs & 30 Marks
    • Language I: 30 MCQs & 30 Marks
    • Language II: 30 MCQs & 30 Marks
    • Mathematics: 30 MCQs & 30 Marks
    • Environmental Studies: 30 MCQs & 30 Marks

Total: 150 MCQ and 150 Marks

  • The questions in the tests for Paper I will be based on the topics prescribed for classes: IV, but their difficulty standard, as well as linkages, could be up to the secondary stage.

 

Application Fees for TET Punjab

  • In case the candidates wish to apply for either Paper I or Paper II, they are required to pay an application fee of Rs.600/- (Rs.300/- for SC/ ST Category/ Differently Abled candidates)
  • In case the candidates wish to apply for both Paper I or Paper II, they are required to pay an application fee of Rs.1200/- (Rs.600/- for SC/ ST Category/ Differently Abled candidates)
  • The fee can be paid through Challan or Credit/Debit Card. Ex-Servicemen Self-only candidates are exempted from payment of fees.

 

Punjab TET 2018 Application process

Eligible candidates can apply online only on www.educationrecruitmentboard.com


Step-1: Online Registration for PSTET

  • The eligible candidates shall apply on-line for the PSTET-I or PSTET-II or Both, at the website www.tetpunjab.com. It is suggested to candidates to carry recent testimonials, scanned photograph & signature with him/her while applying on-line, so that right information may be entered
  • Candidates who are interested for both PSTET-I & PSTET-II, have no need to apply separately, only single registration is sufficient

Step-2: Uploading of Photo & Signature

  • It is mandatory for candidates to upload their recent colored passport size photograph and signature on the panel to complete the registration process successfully. Printing of confirmation page is not possible without uploading the photograph and signature
  • The photograph and signature must be less than 1MB in size
