About NID

As envisaged in the Govt. of India's National Design Policy, four new NIDs are to be set up. Out of the four new NIDs, the Vijayawada Campus will begin functioning from the academic year 2015-16

About Graduate Diploma Program in Design (GDPD)

At the NID Vijayawada campus, the Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) commences with a two-semester rigorous Foundation Programme followed by 3 years of specialized studies in any of the three disciplines offered in GDPD

The one-year Foundation Programme is geared towards developing values, perspectives, sensorial skills, and aesthetic sensitivity essential for a designer in making

It introduces students to the fundamentals of design and helps develop ways perception, understanding of the multidisciplinary nature of design and relationship of design with human senses and emotions, culture, environment and ecology

4 year Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) Programme is offered in the following areas of specialization at NID Vijayawada Campus

Faculty of Industrial Design: Product Design, Furniture & Interior Design, Ceramic & Glass Design

Faculty of Communication Design: Graphic Design, Animation Film Design, Film & Video Communication, Exhibition (Spatial) Design

Faculty of Textile, Apparel and Lifestyle Accessory Design: Textile Design

Projected Number of seats in GDPD: 60 (Includes reserved seats for SC/ST/PH/OBC as per Govt. norms)

Eligibility Criteria for National Institute of Design (NID) Graduate Diploma Program in Design:

Admission is open to students who have passed or who will appear for qualifying examinations under the Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalents like AISSCE/IB/ISC during the academic year 2014-15

Successful candidates shall be given admission to the academic programme, by the institute, subject to their passing the qualifying examinations

Upper age limit for candidates is 20 years (relaxable by 3 years for reserved categories) as on 01st June 2015

For General Category: The candidates born before 01st June 1995 are not eligible

For Reserved Categories: The candidates born before 01st June 1992 are not eligible

Discipline allotment shall take place only at the end of the first year (Foundation Programme), based purely on student's performance in the Foundation Programme and the number of seats available in the desired discipline

Academic Fees Structure for National Institute of Design (NID)  :

Annual Total Fees - Rs 1, 75,800/- (includes, studio and labs, Knowledge Management Centre, IT infrastructure Insurance, Student development fund)

Security Deposit (refundable) - Rs 10,000/-

How to Apply for National Institute of Design (NID)  

Candidates can apply online at https://applyadmission.net/nidv2015

Guidelines for applying online may be referred for the purpose; the applicant need not buy the Admission Prospectus as the Prospectus is available online at https://applyadmission.net/nidv2015 free cost

However, the Application Fee has be paid either through online payment gateway or through Bank Demand Draft issued in favour of "All India Management Association" payable at New Delhi

Fees for General /OBC (Non-Creamy) Category - Rs.1500/- through AIMA payment gateway or Rs.1500/- by Demand Draft

Fees for SC/ST/PH Category - Rs.750/- through AIMA payment gateway or Rs.750/- by Demand Draft

Mode of Payment: Credit Cards /Debit Cards and Demand Draft

a) Credit Cards/Debit Cards: Payments of application fee (Rs.1500/- or Rs.750/-) can be made through credit cards/debit cards as explained on the website https://applyadmission.net

The Bank and transaction charges on the application fee will be borne by the Applicant

b) Demand Draft: Payment of application fee (Rs.1500/- in case of General / OBC (Non-Creamy) candidates and Rs.750/- in case of SC/ST/PH candidates) can be made through Bank Demand Draft as explained

The demand draft should be issued in favour of "All India Management Association", payable at New Delhi

The details of the demand draft are to be filled in the online application form

Submission of Application Form:

Candidates are advised to check the following details carefully before sending the application in case of application fees is paid through Demand Draft

Demand Draft made in favour of "All India Management Association" payable New Delhi

Amount of Demand Draft as applicable i.e. Rs.1500/- in case of General /OBC (non -Creamy Layer) candidates and Rs.750/- in case of SC/ST/PH candidates

Signature of issuing authority on the Demand Draft. Candidates applying through Demand Draft are required to send the printout of the Application Form, duly completed in all respect, along with Demand Draft on the following address "Project Manager - CMS, All India Management Association, Management House, 14, Institutional Area, Lodhi Road, New Delhi-110003

The duly filled in form should reach the above address on or before 22nd May 2015

Candidates are advised to keep the copy of printout and demand draft for future reference. Applicants are advised to keep a print out /photocopy of Application Form for further reference along with proof of payment

Prospectus: The applicant applying online need not buy the Admission Prospectus as the Prospectus is available at https://applyadmission.net/nidv2015 free of cost

List of Exam Cities for Phase I - Design Aptitude Test (DAT): The Design Aptitude Test (DAT) for all UG Programmes will be conducted on 14th June 2015 at 7 cities mentioned here

The candidates has to select only one city for the examination on 14th June 2015 carefully; no request for change in examination centre will be entertained at any stage

Admit Card

On the basis of information given in the NID Application Form, Admit Card of provisionally eligible candidates will be available for download from https://applyadmission.net/nidv2015 from 02nd June 2015 onwards
Admit Card will not be sent by post; candidates are advised to regularly check website https://applyadmission.net/nidv2015 for updates

Please note that NID reserves the right to cancel any of the examination centres mentioned

Last date for receiving completed application forms: 22nd May 2015

Admit Card will be available online only form: 02nd June 2015

Design Aptitude Test for Graduate Diploma Program in Design: 14th June 2015 (Sunday)

Studio Test on 08th August 2015 at Vijayawada for the students short listed in the Design Aptitude Test

Announcement of Phase I Design Aptitude Test Results: 11th July 2015

Announcement of Final Result: 14th August 2015

Last Date for Payment of Fees: 22nd August 2015

Counselling Date: 14th September 2015 onwards
