UG and PG Courses offered by University of Madras in Distance Learning Mode

Being one of the top providers of distance education in India, the University of Madras has always been renowned as a hub for students across the country who want pursue higher education, but can not seek admission into a regular course or program for whatsoever reason.

The University recently published the list of programs it is offering in the forthcoming 2014-15 academic session, and it is seeking application from interested candidates for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

University of Madras offers UG and PG programs in almost all conventional as well as certain unorthodox subjects across the three main streams – Science, Arts and Commerce.

While there are 26 undergraduate programs in total, the number of postgraduate courses in the university stand at 23.

The Undergraduate programs include B.A in English, Tamil, Urdu, as well as a number of other disciplines including,  Historical Studies, Public Administration, Economics, Christian Studies, Vaishnavism, and Criminology and Police Administration. Please note that there are separate programs for the Tamil language – one B.A (Tamil) and the other – B.Lit (Tamil). Undergraduate programs for science students include: Maths, Geographics, Medical Sociology, Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Fashion Design, and so on. There’s also two separate division for Bachelor of Music (B.Music) and Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA).

The available postgraduate programs also span over all three streams viz. Science, Arts and Commerce. Tamil, Hindi, Urdu, English, Modern Arabic, Historical Studies, Political Science, Christian Studies, Sociology, Political Science. Vaishnavism, Music, Human Rights and Duties Education,  Commerce, Physics and Chemistry are some of the programs in offering from the post graduate division of the University of Madras (distance education).
