AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam 2018 Notification announced
AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam 2018 notification is out. Applications are invited for Registration in the prescribed form through online mode only for the Entrance Examination for admission to the MBBS Course in AIIMS, New Delhi and Eight other AIIMS (Patna, Bhopal, Jodhpur, Bhubaneswar, Rishikesh Raipur, Guntur (Andhra Pradesh) and Nagpur (Maharashtra)Online Registration for application opens on: 5th February 2018. Last date for online registration: 5th March 2018
AIIMS set to launch e-training courses
The All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) has developed a virtual training syllabus for aspiring medical students across the country. The medical institution is collaborating with 431 medical colleges nationwide to provide this facility. Every year, about 3.5 lakh students appear for AIIMS exam, however only 72 students get through while others move to various medical colleges in the county.
NEET coaching centres for govt. school students – Tamil Nadu
412 coaching centres proposed for training government school students for NEET will be opened by next week, said School Education Minister K.A. Sengottaiyan. Selected students will get intensive coaching a month ahead of the exam, he added.
NEET 2018: Only one set of question paper for medical entrance
CBSE has informed the Supreme Court that only one set of question paper would be set for students taking the NEET for admission in MBBS and BDS courses from this year. The court had not accepted the board’s contention that if the level of difficulty of all papers was the same, then it served the purpose of uniformity in the examination and there was nothing wrong in having multiple sets of question papers. The CBSE agreed to the suggestions of the apex court and said that from present academic session, there would be only one question paper which would be translated into different languages.
MCI bars open school students from medical entrance exam
The Medical Council of India (MCI) has barred students who have completed class 12 examination through open and distance mode from attending common medical entrance examination (NEET).
The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) under the human resource development (HRD) ministry said the decision will deprive thousands of students the opportunity to pursue medical education.
UG admission to AYUSH courses through NEET only
In a proposal to streamline the admission process and bring meritorious students to the AYUSH systems of medicine in the country, the Centre has written to all the state governments urging them to admit students in the undergraduate AYUSH courses through the merit list of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).

Relief for Maharashtra students: NEET 2018 will not clash with state entrance exams
Putting an end to speculations around the date of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) 2018, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that the exam will be held on May 6. Medical and dental aspirants from Maharashtra had been worried that the dates for NEET and the state Common Entrance Test (MH-CET) would clash. The MH-CET, which is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra for admissions to engineering, technology and pharmacy programmes, is scheduled on May 10.
MBBS final as doctor licence exam, Govt looks at proposal
The health ministry is exploring the option of whether the proposed licentiate examination for doctors can be replaced with the final year MBBS examination, as demanded by the medical fraternity. As per the meeting on January 12, the Ministry officials are considering make the final year examination fulfil all the various roles that the proposed exit exam would have played. Apart from qualifying doctors for licensing, it was also to have functioned as a screening test for foreign medical graduates and as a common entrance test for postgraduate programmes.
