48th SS-Commissioned (Tech) Men & 19th SS-Commission (Tech) Women Course April 2017.
Indian Army 48th Short Service Commission (Tech) and 19th Short Service Commission (Tech) Women Course April 2017 Including Widows of Defence Personal for Tech & Non-Tech Entry. Indian Army Short Service Commission Notification 2017 has been announced.
Indian Army invites applications from married/unmarried MALE and unmarried FEMALE Engineering Graduates and also from Widows of Defence Personnel for grant of Short Service Commission in the Indian Army in all Arms/Services. Course commencing in April 2017 at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, Tamilnadu
Online Application will be open on 27th July 2016
The Last Date of Receipt of Application is 24th Augest 2016
Interviews will be held from Nov/Dec 2016 onwards.
Course commencing in April 2017.
Details of Vacancies
Discipline wise vacancies are as given below:
i) For 48th SSC (T) Men - Vacancy: 100 [Civil-25, Mechanical-15, Electrical/Electrical and Electronics-15, Automobile/Work-shop Technology-02, Aeronautical/Aviation/Aerospace /Ballistics/Avionics-02, Computer Science & Engg /Computer Tech/Info Tech/M.Sc Computer Science-10, Electronics & Telecommunication/ Telecommunication/Electronics & Communication/Satellite Communication-15, Electronics /Opto Electronics/ Fibre Optics/Micro Electronics & Microwave-07, Electronics & Instrumentation / Instrumentation-04, Food Tech / Bio Tech-03, Bio-Medical Engg-02]
ii) For 19th SSC (T) Women - Vacancy: 10 [Civil-04, Mechnical-02, Electrical-02, Telecommunication-02]
iii) For Widows of Defence Personnel - Vacancy: 01 [SSCW (Non Tech)-18: 01 Vacancy; SSC W (Tech)-18: Vacany - Nil]
Nationality: A candidate must either be: A citizen of India, or a subject of Bhutan, or subject of Nepal, or a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st of January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India
Or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by Govt. of India
Candidates who have passed Engineering Degree or are studying in the final year exam of engineering course are eligible to apply. The candidates studying in the final year exam of Degree Course should be able to produce the Engineering Degree within 12 weeks from the date of commencement of training at OTA
Such candidates will be inducted on Additional Bond Basis for recovery of the cost of training at OTA as notified from time to time as well as stipend and pay & allowances paid, in case they fail to produce the requisite Degree Certificate
(i) SSC(T)-48 Men and SSC(T)-19 Women: 20 to 27 years as on 01st Oct 2016 (Candidates born between 02nd October 1989 and 01st October 1996 both dates inclusive)
(ii) For Widows for Defence Personnel with four years age relaxation SSCW (Non-Tech): 19 to 29 years. Born not earlier than 02nd July 1987 and not later than 01st July 1997 (both dates inclusive)
The candidates will be given a stipend of Rs 21,000/- pm; during Training; on completion of training Pay Scale is Rs 15,600/- as pay in Pay Band plus Grade Pay of Rs.5400/- (For details of pay and allowances and facilities visit website www.joinindianarmy.nic.in)
Shortlisting of Applications - Integrated HQ of MoD(Army) reserves the right to shortlist applications and to fix cutoff percentage of marks for each discipline without assigning any reason
Only shortlisted eligible candidates depending on the cutoff percentage will be interviewed at Selection Centres, Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP) and Bangalore (Karnataka) by Psychologist, Group Testing Officer and Interviewing Officer
Call Up letter for SSB interview will be issued through candidate's registered e-mail id and through SMS. Interviews will be held in May/Jun 2016 onwards
Candidates will put through two stage selection procedure; those who clear Stage I will go to Stage II; duration of SSB interviews is five days excluding day of arrival and details of the same are available at official website
