Eligibility Criteria for UPSC Recruitment 2020

Nationality:

A Candidate must be either:

A a citizen of India, or
B a subject of Nepal, or
C a subject of Bhutan, or
D a  Tibetan  refugee who  came over to  India before 1st  January, 1962 with  the intention of permanently settling in India, or
E a  person  of Indian  origin who has  migrated from Pakistan,  Burma, Sri Lanka or East  African countries of Kenya, Uganda,  the United Republic of Tanzania(formerly  Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire,  Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently  settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to  categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in  whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

 

Qualification Detail:

Medical officer/Research officer (Ayurveda) A degree in Ayurveda from a Recognized University or Statutory State Board or Council or Faculty  of Indian Medicine recognized under the Indian Medicine Central Council Act, 1970 (48 of 1970)
Enrolment on the Central Register of Indian Medicine or State Register of Indian Medicine
Medical officer/Research officer (Unani) Degree  in Unani Medicine from a  Recognized University/ Statutory State Board /Council /Faculty  of Indian Medicine recognized under the Indian Medicine Central Council Act, 1970 (48 of 1970).
Enrolment on the Central Register of Indian  Medicine or State Register of Indian Medicine
Anthropologist Master’s degree in  Anthropology of a recognized  University with more than fifty percent papers in Cultural Anthropology in final year examination.
EXPERIENCE:  Three years research  experience in Anthropology
Assistant Library and information officer Bachelor’s Degree in the Tamil Language from  a recognized University or equivalent
Bachelor’s  Degree or equivalent  in Library Science of recognized University/Institute  or equivalent
EXPERIENCE: Two years’ experience in  a recognized Library or two years’ experience  in computerization of a recognized library or Post   Graduate Diploma in Computer Application from a recognized  institute or equivalent
Assistant Engineer, Ministry of Defence Master Degree in Science with Physics/Chemistry from a recognized university   OR Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology in Mechanical or Production  from a recognized university or institute
EXPERIENCE:  Two years practical  experience in Production  or development or quality assurance  in the field of Mechanical Engineering  from recognized organization or undertaking
Assistant Engineer (Electronics), Ministry of Defence Master’s  Degree in  Science in one  of the subjects viz.    Physics, Electronics, Physics  (with Electronics) from a recognized  university OR Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology in one of the disciplines viz.  Electrical, Electronics, Electronics and Electrical, Electronics and Telecommunication,  Electronics and Instrumentation from a recognized University or Institute
EXPERIENCE: Two   years practical   experience in Production   or development or quality assurance in the field of Electrical, Electronics, Electronics and Electrical,  Electronics and Telecommunication, Electronics and Instrumentation from a recognized organization or undertaking
Assistant Engineer (Armaments) Ministry of defence Bachelor’s  Degree in Engineering  or Technology in one of  the disciplines viz. Mechanical,  Production and Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing  Process and Automation Engineering, Production Engineering  from a recognized University or Institute
EXPERIENCE: Two years practical experience in Production or development or quality assurance in any one in the field of Mechanical, Production & Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Process and Automation Engineering, Production Engineering from recognized organization or undertaking
Assistant Engineer (Civil) Development of NE region Bachelor Degree   in Civil Engineering from  a recognized University or equivalent. Equivalent means degree certificate issued by Indian/Foreign University recognized by Government of  India which has been treated as equivalent by Government of India.
EXPERIENCE: Two Years’ experience in Civil Engineering
Scientist B (Central Forensic Science Laboratory) Master’s Degree in Chemistry / AIC  by examination / Physics / Forensic  Science with Chemistry or Physics as  one of the subjects at Bachelor of Science level from a  recognized University
EXPERIENCE:  Three years experience  of analytical methods and  research therein in the field of Documents in any Central Government or State Government organization or recognized research institute or Forensic Science Laboratory under the Central or State Government
Scientist B (Chemistry) Department of water resources Master’s Degree in Chemistry from a recognized University  or Institute
EXPERIENCE:  Having at least  three years research  experience in Chemistry
Senior Divisional Medical officer, (NeuroSurgeon) Ministry of Railways A   recognized   medical qualification  included in the First or  Second Schedule or Part II  of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.  Holders of Educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
Double  Post-Graduation  i.e. basic essential  M.D./ M.S. along with  M.Ch. or D.M. in the speciality  mentioned in Schedule II i.e.M.Ch.  (Neuro-Surgery) from a recognized University or Speciality Board of Neurological Surgery (USA) or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE:  Two years’ working experience   after obtaining the first post graduate degree  of M.S.or M.D
Senior Division Medical officer (plastic surgery) Ministry of railway A   recognized   medical qualification   included in the First or  Second Schedule or Part II  of the Third Schedule (other  than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.  Holders of Educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third  Schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in sub-section (3)  of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.

Specialist Grade III (Plastic Surgery and Reconstructive surgery) Department of Health and Family welfare A  recognized  MBBS qualification  included in the First  or Second Schedule or Part  II of the Third Schedule (other  than licentiate qualifications) to the  Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Post-Graduate Degree in the concerned super speciality mentioned in Section A of Schedule VI or equivalent i.e. M.Ch. (Plastic Surgery)/M.Ch. (Plastic and  Constructive Surgery).

UPSC Recruitment 2020 Application Process

Candidates must apply  online through the website  http://www.upsconline.nic.in.    Applications  received through  any other mode would  not be accepted and summarily  rejected.
Candidates  must upload  the following documents/certificates  relating to educational qualification,  Date of Birth, Experience (preferably  in prescribed format), Desirable Qualification(s)  or any other information, as claimed in the online application, in a single  pdf file in such a way that the file size does not exceed 2 MB and is legible  when a printout taken. For that purpose, the applicant may scan the following documents/certificates  in 200 dpi grayscale.    
a) Matriculation/10th  Standard or equivalent  certificate indicating date  of birth, or mark sheet of  Matriculation/10th Standard or equivalent  issued by Central/State Board indicating Date of Birth in support of claim of age. Where date of birth is not available in certificate/mark   sheets, issued by concerned Educational Boards, School leaving certificate indicating Date of Birth (in case of Tamil Nadu & Kerala)
b) Degree/Diploma  certificate as proof  of educational qualification  claimed. In the absence of Degree/Diploma  certificate, provisional certificate along with  mark sheets pertaining to all the academic years
c) Order/ letter in respect of equivalent Educational Qualifications claimed, indicating the  Authority (with number and date) under which it has been so treated, in respect of equivalent  clause in Essential Qualifications, if a candidate is claiming a particular qualification as equivalent qualification as per the requirement of advertisement.
d) Caste/ Handicapped certificate
Documents  like Pay Slip,  Resume, Appointment  Letter, Relieving Letter,  Un-signed Experience Certificate  etc. must not be uploaded in the Document Upload Module
