About SSC Constable GD 2018

  • SSC GD Constable 2018 is expected to fill 54953 posts of Constables in ITBPF, BSF, CISF, CRPF and SSB and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles across the nation
  • Candidates appointed through SSC GD Constable 2018 are the in-charge of guard or escort. They are majorly responsible for the overall activities in absence of Assistant Sub-Inspector and Sub-inspectors. They are liable to obey the duties handed over to them by the SHO.

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality/ Citizenship
  • Candidate must be a citizen of India. Vacancies are state/ UT wise hence a candidate must submit domicile/ PRC against his/ her state/ UT
Age Limit
  • 18-23 years as on 01st August 2018. Candidates should not have been born earlier than 02nd August 1995 and later than 01st August 2000
  • Note-I: The upper age limit is relaxable for SC, ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen and other categories of persons in accordance with the Governments orders on the subject
  • Note-II: Candidates should note that only the Date of Birth and Name as recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary Exam Certificate or an equivalent certificate will be accepted by the Commission for determining the age and name
  • Age relaxation codes available to different categories of candidates for claiming age relaxation as on the date of reckoning are as follows:
    • OBC – 26 years
    • ST/SC – 28 years
    • Ex-Servicemen (GEN) – 26 years
    • Ex-Servicemen (OBC) – 29 years
    • Ex-Servicemen (SC/ST) – 31 years
  • Domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 1st Jan 1980 to 31st Dec 1989 (GEN) – 28 Years
  • Domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 1st Jan 1980 to 31st Dec 1989 (OBC) – 31 Years

Educational Qualifications (as on 01st August 2018)
  • Matriculation or 10th class pass from a recognized Board/ University
  • Candidates who have not acquired the essential educational qualification as on01st August 2018 will not be eligible and need not apply
  • Candidates must bring all relevant documents/ certificates in original with self-attested copies pertaining to age, education, caste, domicile, hill area, any category for relaxation, No Objection Certificate (NOC)/ discharge certificate (in case of ex-servicemen), which will be checked/ verified at the time of DME by CAPF Board
  • Candidates who are able to prove, by documentary evidence, that the result of the qualifying exam was declared on or before the cut-off date i.e.01st August 2018 and he/ she has been declared passed, will be considered to have the requisite Educational Qualification
Physical Standard
  • The physical standard for SSC Constable (GD) Examination 2018 is as follows.

Height

  • For Males: 170 cms
  • For Females: 157 cms

Chest

  • For Male: Expanded 80 cms
  • Minimum expansion 5 cms

Weight

  • Proportionate as per the height and medical standard for male and female.

Selection Process

  1. Physical Efficiency Test
  2. Written Examination
  3. Medical Test
Physical Standards Test
  • Female candidates are eligible for posts earmarked for them only
  • All candidates applying for the recruitment and prima-facie eligible will be called to appear in Physical Standards Test and Physical Efficiency Test at 10 places finalized by the Commission in consultation with the CAPFs. Detailed scrutiny of their eligibility will not be undertaken by the Commission before PET/ PST. Therefore, it will be the responsibility of the candidate to verify their eligibility as prescribed in this notice before appearing for PST/ PET.
  • Physical standards laid down for the post of Constable are – a) Height: For Males: 170 cms. For Females: 157 cms. b) Chest: For males only – Unexpanded: 80 cms. – Expanded: Min expansion 5 cms. c) Weight: For males and Females: Proportionate to height and age as per medical standards
Physical Standard Test (PST)/Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
  • Candidates who are found eligible on height parameters will undergo PET (race) followed by biometric identification & screening of testimonials and thereon chest and weight measurements by a board. b) Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
  • For Male candidates Race 5 Kms in 24 minutes. For Female candidates race 1.6 Kms in 8 ½ minutes.

Written Exam

  • The candidates qualifying in PST/PET will be called for a Written Examination. Though the Commission will endeavour to accommodate the candidates in centres opted by him / her, it may combine the centres or divert the candidates to other centres, depending on administrative convenience. The Written examination will consist of only one objective type paper containing 100 questions and carrying 100 marks.

  1. General Intelligence & Reasoning – 25 No. of Questions & 25 Maximum Marks
  2. General Knowledge & General Awareness – 25 No. of Questions & 25 Maximum Marks
  3. Elementary Mathematics – 25 No. of Questions & 25 Maximum Marks
  4. English/ Hindi – 25 No. of Questions & 25 Maximum Marks
  • Total – 100 No. of Questions &100 Maximum Marks [2 Hours)
English/Hindi
  • Candidates’ ability to understand basic English/ Hindi, his basic comprehension would be tested. The questions in all the above components will be of Matriculation Level
Physical Efficiency Test
  • For Male Candidates [Race] – 5 Km in 24 minutes
  • For Female Candidates [Race] – 1.6 Km in 8 minutes

Application Fee & Mode of Payment
  • Fee Payable – Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred only)
  • Fee can be paid through SBI Challan/ SBI Net Banking or by using Visa, Mastercard or Maestro Credit or Debit Card
  • Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of fee
  • Applications received without the prescribed fee shall not be considered and summarily rejected. No representation against such rejection will be entertained
  • Note-I: Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances

  • A basic salary of SSC GD Constable 2018 is Rs. 21700-69,100/-
  • Apart from the pay, you will be entitled to several other benefits like medical facilities, pension, Gratuity, and annual leaves
