Recruitment of 509 Administrative Officers (Scale-I) in the new India Assurance Co Ltd 2014

The New India Assurance Company Ltd invites applications for recruitment of the 509 Administrative Officer (Scale-I) Vacancies. Eligible candidates can apply online from 11th October 2014 to 03rd November 2014

The New India Assurance Company Ltd., a leading Public Sector General Insurance Company & wholly owned by Government of India, invites applications for recruitment of 509 (Five Hundred Nine) Officers in Scale I cadre from open market

Name of Discipline:

1) Finance: 65 Posts

2) Engineering: 25 Posts

3) Legal: 40 Posts

4) Automobile Engineering: 30 Posts

5) Generalist: 349 Posts

Total Vacancies: 509 ([SC -73, ST - 37, OBC - 138, UR - 261)

Reservation: The reservation under various categories will be as per prevailing Govt Guidelines at the time of finalization of result

Note

i) Candidates belonging to OBC category but coming in the “Creamy Layer” are not entitled to OBC reservation and age relaxation; they should indicate their category as General

In respect of posts reserved for OBC category, a sub Quota of 4.5% reservation for minorities is applicable as per DOPT guidelines; the same shall be subject to prevailing guidelines issued from time to time

ii) The discipline wise numbers mentioned above are provisional/indicative; the Company reserves the right not to select any candidate from any of the disciplines mentioned above

The discipline wise numbers indicated above may vary and /or can be interchanged at any stage of recruitment process

iii) Reservation for Persons with Disabilities (PWD) shall be as per prevailing govt. rules

Eligibility

Nationality: A candidate applying for recruitment in the Company must be either: a) a citizen of India, or b) a subject of Nepal, or c) a subject of Bhutan, or d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Govt of India

Educational Qualification (as on 01st Oct. 2014)

Candidate should possess certificate in proof of passing the qualifying examination as on 01st October 2014

For Generalist Stream, a candidate must possess the minimum qualification of a Degree in any discipline from a recognized University OR any equivalent qualification recognized as such by Central Govt

For Specialist Stream a candidate must possess the minimum qualification of Degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized University OR any equivalent qualification recognized as such by Central Government:

The minimum Educational Qualifications required for various disciplines are:

Finance: Chartered Accountant (ICAI) / Cost Accountant (ICWA)/ MBA FINANCE*/ B.COM / M.COM

Engineering: B.Tech /B.E (in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics & Communication Engineering).

Automobile Engineering: B.E/B.Tech in Automobile Engineering OR Graduate in Mechanical Engineering with Diploma (at least one year duration) in Automobile Engineering

Legal: Graduate in Law

Generalist: Graduate in any stream

*MBA Finance candidates must furnish certificate from university confirming their specialization in finance at the time of interview, failing which they will not be allowed to appear for the interview

Note

a) Qualifications mentioned above should be from any of the recognized Indian Universities duly approved by the UGC or any of the recognized Indian Institutes duly approved by AICTE

b) Preference will be given to candidates having post qualification experience in their area of specialization. Company’s decision in this regard shall be final

Age limit

Candidate age should be minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years as on 01st October 2014, i.e candidate must have been born not earlier than 02nd October 1984 and not later than 01st October 1993 (both dates inclusive)

Relaxation in upper age limit shall be as follows:

i) Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe:  5 years

ii) Other Backward Classes (Non creamy layer): 3 years

iii) Persons With Disability: 10 years

iv) Ex-Servicemen, Commissioned Officers including Emergency Commissioned Officers (ECOs)/ Short Service Commissioned Officers (SSCOs) who have rendered at least 5 years military service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year from the last date of receipt of application) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or physical disability attributable to military service or invalidment: 5 years

v) Defence service personnel disabled in operation during the hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as consequence thereof: 3 years

vi) Persons ordinarily domiciled in the Kashmir Division of the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 1-1-80 to 31.12.1989: 5 years

vii) Existing Confirmed Employees of Public Sector General Insurance Companies (including GIC & Agriculture Insurance Company of India Ltd): 8 years

Selection Process

Candidates are selected based on Online Examination & Interview

Candidates will be called for online examination to be held on 10th January 2015 to 11th January 2015 (Tentative)

Emoluments & Benefits

Basic pay of Rs.17240/- in the scale of Rs.17240-840(14)-29,000-910(4)-32640 and other admissible allowance as applicable

Total emoluments will be approximately Rs.36000/- pm in Metropolitan Centers; other benefits such as Pension under New Pension system governed by PFRDA, Gratuity, LTS, Medical Benefits, Group Personal Accident Insurance etc. shall be as per rules

The Officers are also entitled for Company’s / leased accommodation as per norms; the salary scales are under revision with effect from August 2012

Application Fee (Non-Refundable)

Candidates have to pay Rs.50/- for SC/ ST/ PWD/ Female candidates, Rs.600/- for remaining by using Debit Cards/ Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets from 11th October 2014 to 03rd November 2014

Fee/ Intimation charges once paid will NOT be refunded on any account nor can it be held reserve for any other examination or selection

How to Apply

Eligible candidates can apply online through the website www.newindia.co.in from 11th October 2014 to 03rd November 2014

Candidates can apply online only from 11th October 2014 to 03rd November 2014 and no other mode of application will be accepted

Important Points to be noted before registration

Before applying online, candidates should

i) Scan their photograph and signature ensuring that both the photograph and signature adhere to the required specifications as given under Guideline for photograph & signature scan and upload

ii) Have a valid personal email ID and mobile no., which should be kept active till the completion of this Recruitment Process; all official communication will be sent to the registered e-mail id of the candidate
In case a candidate does not have a valid personal e-mail ID, he/she should create his/her new e-mail ID and mobile no. before applying on-line and must maintain that email account and mobile number

Application Procedure

1) Candidates to go to the Company's website http://newindia.co.in and click on the option "apply online" which will open a new screen

2) To register application, choose the tab "Click here for New Registration" and enter Name, Contact details and Email-id. A Provisional Registration Number and Password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Candidate should note down the Provisional Registration Number and Password. An Email & SMS indicating the Provisional Registration number and Password will also be sent

3) In case the candidate is unable to complete the application form in one go, he/she can save the data already entered by choosing "SAVE AND NEXT" tab. Prior to submission of the online application candidates are advised to use the "SAVE AND NEXT" facility to verify the details in the online application form and modify the same if required. Visually Impaired candidates should fill the application form carefully and verify/ get the details verified to ensure that the same are correct prior to final submission

4) All the information given by the candidate in the application is treated as final and no correction is allowed after the final submission. Candidates are advised to carefully fill and verify the details in the online application themselves as no change will be possible/ entertained after clicking the FINAL SUBMIT BUTTON)

5. The Name of the candidate and his /her Father/ Husband etc. should be spelt correctly in the application and should be the same as it appears in the Certificates/ Mark sheets as well as on the photo id. Any change/alteration found may disqualify the candidature

6) Validate your details and Save your application by clicking the 'Validate your details' and 'Save & Next' button

7) Candidates can proceed to upload Photo & Signature as per the specifications given in the Guidelines for Scanning and Upload of Photograph and Signature detailed under point "C"

8) Candidates can proceed to fill other details of the Application Form

9. Click on the Preview Tab to preview and verify the entire application form before FINAL SUBMIT

10) Modify details, if required, and click on 'FINAL SUBMIT' ONLY after verifying and ensuring that the photograph, signature uploaded and other details filled by you are correct.

11) Click on 'Payment' Tab and proceed for payment

12) Click on 'Submit' button

An online application which is incomplete in any respect such as without proper size photograph and signature uploaded in the online application form/ unsuccessful fee payment will not be considered as valid. Candidates are advised in their own interest to apply on-line much before the closing date and not to wait till the last date for depositing the fee / intimation charges to avoid the possibility of disconnection/ inability/ failure to log on to the website on account of heavy load on internet/website jam
The Company does not assume any responsibility for the candidates not being able to submit their applications within the last date on account of the aforesaid reasons or for any other reason

Please note that the above procedure is the only valid procedure for applying. No other mode of application would be accepted

Incomplete applications would be rejected

Any information submitted by an applicant in his/ her application shall be binding on the candidate personally and he/she shall be liable for prosecution/ civil consequences in case the information/ details furnished by him/ her are found to be false at a later stage

Please note that candidates will not be permitted to appear for the online examination without the following documents:

1) Valid Call Letter for the respective date and session of Examination

2) Photo-identity proof (as specified) in original bearing the same name and other information as it appears on the call letter/ application form and

3) Photocopy of the above photo-identity proof (as detailed prospectus*)

LIST OF DOCUMENTS TO BE PRODUCED AT THE TIME OF INTERVIEW (AS APPLICABLE)

The following documents in original and self attested photocopies in support of the candidate’s eligibility and identity are to be invariably submitted at the time of interview failing which the candidate may not be permitted to appear for the interview

Non submission of requisite documents by the candidate at the time of interview will debar his candidature from further participation in the recruitment process

i) Printout of the valid Interview Call Letter

ii) Valid system generated printout of the online application form registered for the online examination.

iii) Proof of Date of Birth (Birth Certificate issued by the Competent Municipal Authorities or SSLC/ Std. X Certificate with DOB)

iv) Photo Identify Proof as indicated in *IDENTITY VERIFICATION of the advertisement

v) Mark-sheets & certificates for Std X, XII and Graduation or equivalent qualification etc. Proper document from Board / University for having declared the result on or before 01st October 2014 has to be submitted

vi) Caste Certificate, along with caste validity certificate, issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format as stipulated by Govt of India in the case of SC/ST/OBC category candidates

In case of candidates belonging to OBC category, certificate should specifically contain a clause that the candidate does not belong to creamy layer section excluded from the benefits of reservation for Other Backward Classes in Civil posts & services under Govt. of India

Candidates belonging to OBC category but coming under creamy layer and/ or if their caste does not find place in the Central List are not entitled to OBC reservation

vii) Disability certificate in prescribed format issued by the District Medical Board in case of Persons With Disability category

If the candidate has used the services of a Scribe at the time of online examination the duly filled in details of the scribe in the prescribed format as available in our website

viii) An Ex-serviceman candidate has to produce a copy of the Service or Discharge book along with pension payment order and documentary proof of rank last / presently held (substantive as well as acting) at the time of interview; those who are still in defence service should submit a certificate from a competent authority that they will be relieved from defence services, on or before 30th September 2015

ix) Experience certificates, if any

x) Persons falling in categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) of Nationality criteria should produce a certificate of eligibility issued by the Govt. of India
