Recruitment of Clerical Cadre (1090)

Dena Bank, a premier Nationalised Bank, invites applications for Clerical Cadre from interested candidates who have qualified in the common written examination (CWE) for Clerical Cadre conducted by IBPS in 2011-12 and hold a valid score card issued by IBPS

Candidates are required to apply on line through Bank’s website www.denabank.com (where full advertisement is available)

No other means/modes of application will be accepted

Bank reserves the right to call only requisite number of candidates for interview in the ratio as decided by the Bank keeping in view the minimum ratio of 1:4 (1:5 in case of SC/ST/OBC/PwD/EXSM) for respective State/UT

Candidates shall be called for interview in the order of merit of marks scored in CWE

Merely satisfying the eligibility norms as stipulated herein below do not entitle a candidate to be called for interview

Dena Bank Clerical Recruitment 2012 Important Dates

Opening date for on-line registration of application: 17th April, 2012

Closing date for on-line registration of application (for all applicants including those from far-flung areas): 02nd May, 2012

The fees payment challan/NEFT receipt date should not be earlier than 17th April, 2012 and not later than 02nd May, 2012, both days inclusive

Candidates need not send the print out of the computer generated online application after submitting the application online

However, they are advised to take a print out of the same and retain the same for future reference and required to produce the same at the time of Interview, if shortlisted

Pay Scale: Rs 7200-400/3-8400-500/3-9900-600/4-12300-700/7-17200-1300/1-18500-800/1-19300 (Approx total emoluments at the start of the scale will be Rs 11,000/- inclusive of DA and HRA at Metropolitan Centre)

In addition Medical benefits, Leave fare concession, retirement benefits are admissible as per Bank’s rules

New appointees will be covered by defined contributory pension scheme as introduced for employees of central Govt of India and modified from time to time

Eligibility for Dena Bank Clerical Jobs 2012

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality/Citizenship: A candidate must be either (i) a citizen of India or (ii) a subject of Nepal or (iii) a subject of Bhutan or (iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 01st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar (formerly Burma), Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) or (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Govt of India. A candidate, in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary, may be provisionally admitted to the examination/interview conducted by the Bank. However, on final selection the offer of appointment will be given only after producing necessary eligibility certificate issued to him by the Govt of India

Age Limit (as on 01st August, 2011): Minimum 18 years, maximum 28 years

Relaxation age limit: SC/ST candidates 5 years; OBC candidates 3 years; Persons domiciled in Kashmir division of J&K State during 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989-5 years; PwD-10 years; The children/family members of those who died in the 1984 riots-5 years; Ex-servicemen (in addition to the usual period of service in the Defence forces) subject to a maximum age of 50 years-3 years; Widows, divorced women and women judicially separated from their husbands and who are not remarried-9 years

Educational Qualifications (as on 01st August, 2012): Pass with 60% marks in 10+2 examination or its equivalent (for SC/ST pass class); or a degree in any discipline from a recognized university

Computer knowledge is essential

Application Fee (Non-refundable)

For SC/ST/PWD Rs 50/- (only intimation and postal charges); for all others (including OBC) Rs 150/- (including intimation and postal charges)

Requisite application fee must be paid by way of Fees Payment Challan by visiting nearest Dena Bank’s
Branch or by way of NEFT by visiting any scheduled commercial Bank

Fees payment challan/NEFT must be paid on or after 17th April, 2012 but on or before 02nd May, 2012, the last date of on-line registration

Even if the Bank extends the date of on-line registration by one or two days, the valid dates of Fee Payment Challan/NEFT will not be changed

Candidates must write his/her name, contact number (mobile/Telephone number) and address and post applied for on the reverse of the fees payment challan/NEFT

Application fees by demand draft/pay order/cash/cheque/money order/postal stamps will not be accepted

Application fees will not be refunded or held in reserve for any future selection process/examination

Selection Procedure

Interview: The short listing of the candidates for personal interview will be made on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the written test conducted by IBPS and the total weightage score obtained as per the valid score card issued by IBPS and candidates shall be called for interview in order of merit in the ratio as decided by the Bank keeping in view the minimum ratio 1:4 (1:5 in case of SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EX-SM)

The Interview will carry 100 marks

Minimum qualifying marks in the interview will be 40% (35% in case of SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EX-SM candidates)

Marks obtained in interview will be reckoned for merit ranking

Candidate not passing in interview will not be considered for final selection

Bank reserves the right to change the selection strategy

Centres for Personal Interview: The personal interview will be tentatively held at major centres of the country

The Bank reserves the right to allot the candidate to any of the centers, to pre-pone/postpone/reschedule the personal interview dates and/or to add or delete or modify/change the centre and the venues and/ or to change the selection procedure if necessary on account of technical or administrative exigencies or any other reason

The intimation for the purpose of interview etc would be sent to the eligible candidates only through e-mail and SMS as given in their on line application form, and can also be down loaded from Bank’s website

Kindly note that no other mode of communication pertaining to the interview process other than mentioned above will be followed

Probation Period: 6 (Six) months

How to apply

The candidates should have a valid email ID

This email ID should be the same as the one registered for CWE-Clerks-2011

It should be kept active during the currency of this recruitment project

Bank will send call letters for interview etc through the registered e-mail ID

Under no circumstances, he/she should share/mention email ID to/of any other person

Fee Payment Challan: The guideline for on line application is given as under for candidates who wish to pay the requisite fees by means of Fee Payment Challan (where nearest Dena Bank Branch is available)

Applicants are first required to go to the Bank’s website www.denabank.com and click on the Home page and open the link Recruitment

Thereafter, open the recruitment Notification entitled Dena Bank-Recruitment Project for Clerks-2012

Take a print of the entire Fees Payment Challan

Fill in the fee payment challan in a clear and legible handwriting in Block Letters

Go to the nearest Dena Bank Branch with the fee payment challan and pay in cash, the appropriate application fee in CBS Account No-116211021143 with Corporate Business Branch, BKC, Mumbai-51 in the name and style of Dena Bank-Clerks Rectt-2012

Obtain the applicant’s copy of counterfoil of the application fee payment challan duly receipted by the Bank with (a) Branch Name and Branch SOL-ID (b) Transaction ID (c) Date of Deposit and Amount filled by the Branch Official

Candidates are now ready to apply on line by re-visiting the recruitment link appropriate places

Fill in all other required details therein and click on the Submit button at the end of the on line application form

Retain your registration number and password for further reference safely

After applying on line, the registered candidates must retain the print out of application form for further reference

This system generated printout of the application should be submitted along with 2 sets of required certificates/testimonials at the time of interview

Original counterfoil of the fee payment challan will have to be submitted with call letter at the time of interview

Without counterfoil of the fee payment challan the candidate will not be allowed to appear in the interview

Take a printout of the Instructions for application for funds transfer under NEFT

Go to the any nearest Bank and Branch who is listed by RBI under RTGS/ NEFT system and pay in cash the appropriate application Fee in CBS Account Number-116211021143 with Corporate Business Branch, BKC, Mumbai-51 in the name and style of Dena Bank-Clerks Rectt-2012

Obtain the applicant’s copy of counterfoil of the application fee duly receipted by the Bank with (a) Branch Name and Code Number, (b) UTR Number, (c) Date of Deposit and amount filled by the Branch Official

Original counterfoil of the NEFT will have to be submitted with call letter at the time of interview

Without counterfoil of the NEFT the candidate will not be allowed to appear in the interview

Candidates are advised to keep a photocopy of the NEFT for future use

Eligibility Criteria

Age: Minimum age 18 years and maximum age 28 years as on 01st August, 2011

Educational qualifications

The candidate should possess the following qualifications as on 01st August, 2011 Pass with 50% marks in the aggregate, either in the Higher Secondary School (HSC) examination or Standard XII under the 10+2+3 pattern or Standard XI under the 11+4 pattern or its equivalent of recognized Educational Board, acceptable to the Bank; or

A degree from UGC recognized University (Graduation level)

Ex-servicemen who do not possess the above civil examination qualifications should have passed, while serving in the Armed forces, with a minimum of 50% marks, in any of the following examinations recognized by the Govt as equivalent of the civil examination of HSC; IAF educational test for promotion to the Rank of Corporal; Passing Out (Indian Navy) Examination conducted by Boys Training Establishment, Visakhapatnam; A matriculate Ex-Servicemen candidate, who have obtained the Indian Army Special Certificate of Education or corresponding certificate in the Navy or the Air Force after having completed not less than 15 years of service in Armed Forces of the Union are also eligible to apply

Candidates having completed foundation course on Computer Awareness and Office Automation for duration of minimum 3 months from a Computer Institute, is desirable

The desirability of having completed the said course will be waived in case of those candidates having computer subject as part of the curriculum at the Pre-Degree/Degree level

Knowledge of Regional Language of a particular State/Union Territory for which candidate apply, is essential

Candidates possessing minimum total weighted standard score (TWSS) in the Common Written Examination (CWE) conducted by IBPS in 2011 as indicated in page 1 of this notice, should only apply

The educational qualifications prescribed above for the post is the minimum

Candidates must possess the qualifications as on 01st August, 2011

The percentage of marks stipulated for the educational qualification is for General (unreserved) category candidates

Candidates belonging to the reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/PwD/EX-SM), filling in vacancies reserved for the relevant category, will be entitled to a relaxation of 5% marks in relation to that stipulated for general category candidates

Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PwD/EX-SM categories filling in unreserved vacancies will not be entitled to the above referred relaxation

The percentage of marks in 12th standard shall be arrived at by dividing the marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects by aggregate maximum marks of all the subjects irrespective of optional/additional subjects studied

Relaxation in age limit: SC/ST candidates by 5 years; OBC candidates by 3 years; PwD by 10 years on cumulative basis (The cumulative age relaxation for PwD category candidates will therefore be 15 years (10+5) for SC/ST; by 13 years (10+3) for OBC; and by 10 years (0+10) for General candidates, subject to such cumulative relaxation not taking the age of the candidate beyond 50 years as on 01st August, 2011; All persons who have ordinarily been domiciled in Kashmir Division of J&K State during 01st January, 1980 to 31st December, 1989 by 5 years; Widows, divorced women and women judicially separated from their husbands, who have not remarried  by 9 years; Ex-servicemen who fulfill the revised definition as laid down in Govt of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, Dept Personnel and Administrative Reform Notification No-36034/5/85/Estt (SCT) dated 27th October, 1986, as amended from time to time, who have put in not less than 6 months continuous service in the Armed Forces shall be allowed the benefit of age relaxation by deducting the length of such service from his actual age and the resultant notional age does not exceed 36 years, subject to his not exceeding the Maximum Age of 50 years

Interview Marks: Maximum marks for interview will be 100

Minimum qualifying marks in interview are 50% for General category and 45% for reserved category

Selection Procedure

Depending on the number of vacancies, only those candidates who have secured the minimum qualifying marks stipulated for common written examination (CWE) conducted by IBPS (subject wise objective test), have the minimum IBPS TWS score specified above and rank sufficiently high in the order of merit shall be called for a personal interview in the ratio of 1:3

The candidates should have valid score card issued by IBPS

Mere pass in the common written examination shall not vest any right in a candidate for being called for Personal Interview

Merit list of the candidates based on the aggregate marks obtained by them in common written test and in personal interview will be prepared in descending order, under the respective SC/ ST/OBC/GEN category State wise

The final selection will be made on the basis of this merit list

Probation: The selected candidates will be on probation for a period of 6 months of active service from the date of his/her joining the Bank

Application fee (non-refundable) Application fees for SC/ST/PwD/Ex-service-men candidates-Nil; for all other candidates-Rs 200/-

Application fee has to be paid in any of Bank of India branches by computer-generated challan

Fees in any other mode will not be accepted

How to apply

Candidate should have a valid e-mail ID

The candidate should apply on line through website www.bankofindia.co.in

As a first step, candidate should take out print out of challan from website www.bankofindia.co.in (this will not be applicable for SC/ST/PwD/Ex-Serviceman candidates)

Against the above said challan, the candidate should make the payment of fees in any of the Bank of India branches on or before 28th April, 2012

Once the payment of fees is made, the concerned branch will give him a Transaction Number

Candidates are now ready to apply online by re-visiting the Bank’s website and going to the sublink to open the appropriate online application format

Candidate should visit again our website www.bankofindia.co.in under the caption Recruitments/ Career and should fill up the application available

Transaction Number should be correctly filled in the application at appropriate place (this is not applicable for SC/ST/PwD/Ex-Servicemen candidates)

Application should be checked and after verification be submitted by clicking to submit button

Application should be printed to be kept ready for submission at the time of interview at the interview venue

You should note/remember your Registration Number for future reference and use

Please note that the above procedure is the only procedure for applying

Physical mode of application or incomplete application would not be accepted and if submitted such application would be rejected outright

As per the above said procedure, we summarize the steps as below; Print Challan; Pay the fees in any of the Bank of India Branch and take Transaction Number; Fill-up the application form on-line after verification;

Print application and affix photograph-to submit the same at the time of interview with following documents; Copy of your valid common written examination (CWE) score card issued by IBPS; copy of receipted challan; (except for SC/ST/PwD/Ex-Servicemen); attested copy of School leaving certificate or any other document showing proof of age acceptable to the Bank; attested copies of mark sheets/certificates in support of educational qualification; attested copy of certificate of computer course, if available; Any other related certificate as applicable, Caste Certificate etc

Candidates serving in Govt/Public Sector Undertakings will be required to submit No Objection Certificate from their employer, in the absence of which their candidature will not be considered and will be cancelled for non-submission of NOC

Even if the last date of registration is changed due to technical reasons, the valid dates for payment of application fee will not be changed

Payment of fee by demand draft/cheque/money orders/postal orders etc will not be accepted

After registration the application printout need not be sent to the Bank

The said application alongwith challan and copies of required documents mentioned above should be kept ready for submission at the time of interview
