The recruitment for the post of Probationary Clerks shall be on State-wise/Union Territory wise basis
Candidates can apply for Probationary Clerk post in one state/union territory only and should have appeared for the test, from a centre allotted for that particular state/union territory in IBPS CWE-Clerk 2011-12
On selection, candidates will be placed anywhere in that state/union territory depending up on Bank’s requirement and candidate has to work in the place of posting for a minimum period of 5 years
Candidates belonging to reserved categories, for which no post has been announced, are free to apply against the un-reserved posts, provided they fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned
The number of posts and the reservations provided are provisional and may vary according to actual requirement of the Bank, subject to availability of suitable candidates
Eligibility Criteria
Passed the Common Written Examination (CWE) for Clerks 2011-12 conducted by IBPS, Mumbai and holding a valid IBPS score card of the said CWE
Should have obtained a minimum score or above in each subject and also in the total weighted standard score for the state/union territory, for which candidate is applying; and
A pass with 60% marks in the aggregate in Matriculation/SSC (old pattern)/SSLC/10th Std examination of 10+2+3 pattern or equivalent
SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EX-SM candidates a pass in the aggregate in Matriculation/SSC (old pattern)/ SSLC/10th Std examination of 10+2+3 pattern or equivalent; or
A pass with 50% marks in HSC examination of 10+2 (10+2+3) pattern/11th Std of (11+1+3) pattern or Intermediate/ Pre-University or any equivalent examination/diploma in Banking recognized by Central/ State Govt or UT administration
SC/ST/OBC/PwD/EXSM candidates a pass in HSC examination of 10+2 (10+2+3 pattern)/11th Std of (11+1+3) pattern or Intermediate/ Pre-University or any equivalent examination/ diploma in Banking recognized by Central/State Govt or UT administration; or
Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Govt; and
Candidate should have proficiency in official language of the State/ UT for which he/she is applying
Educational qualification prescribed above is minimum and should have been acquired on or before 01st August, 2011
Candidate should indicate the percentage obtained calculated to the nearest two decimals in the online application
Where CGPA/OGPA is awarded, the same should be converted in to percentage and indicate the same in online application, besides indicating the CGPA/OGPA in the on line application
A copy of conversion formula notified by Board/University for converting grades in to percentage has to be submitted at the time of interview
All the educational qualifications mentioned should be from a recognized University/ Institution and the result should have been declared on or before 01st August, 2011
Proper document from Board/University for having declared the result on or before 01st August, 2011 has to be submitted at the time of interview
The fraction of percentage arrived will be ignored 59.99% will be treated as less than 60% and 49.99% will be treated as less than 50%
Computer Literacy: Operating and working knowledge in computer systems shall be an essential qualification, which a candidate must either possess or acquire within 6 months from the date of joining the Bank
Hindi Knowledge: The candidates shall acquire working knowledge of Hindi, if not possessed already, before completion of probationary period
Age (as on 01st August, 2011 inclusive): Minimum 18 years, maximum 28 years
Pay Scale: Rs 7200-400/3-8400-500/3-9900-600/4-12300-700/7-17200-1300/1-18500-800/1-19300/-
Dearness Allowance, HRA, CCA, Medical Aid, Hospitalization expenses, Leave Fare Concession etc, depending on the place of posting shall be available as per rules
Nationality/Citizenship: A candidate must be either (i) a citizen of India or (ii) a subject of Nepal or (iii) a subject of Bhutan or (iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 01st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) or (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Govt of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the group discussion/interview conducted by the Bank, but on final selection the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate issued by the Govt of India, is produced
Relaxation in upper age limit: SC/ST candidates 5 years; OBC/OBC-Minority candidates by 3 years; PwD 10 years; All persons who are ordinarily domiciled in Kashmir Division of J&K State during 01.01.80 to 31.12.89 -5 years; Persons (Children/Family members of those) affected by 1984 riots-5 years; Widows, divorced women and women judicially separated from their husbands, who have not remarried-9 years; Ex-servicemen -by 3 years plus period of service in Armed Forces, subject to a maximum age of 50 years
Application Fee (non-refundable): SC/ST/PwD Rs 50.0 (Intimation Charges only); All others Rs 100/-

Take print out of the payment challan from website
Fill the particulars IBPS CWE-Clerk 2011-12 registration number, name, date of birth, contact Tele number, category, amount deposited, depositing branch name and city
Submit the fee payment challan and amount in any Canara Bank Branch
Collect the candidate’s copy of fee payment challan from the Branch
Please verify that challan is properly signed and the details of Transaction Sequence Number, Branch Name and DP Code Number, Deposit Date are noted in the challan by the Branch Authorities
Log on to bank website www.canarabank.com for applying on-line by using Registration Number/Roll Number and password pertaining to IBPS CWE-Clerk 2011-12
Paying the amount through NEFT in any other Bank (if the candidate opts for payment through other Banks)
Fill the NEFT challan as required by the bank with Beneficiary details as (Beneficiary Account-Canara Bank, Recruitment Project-2/2012-Probationary Clerks, Account Number-1173201002265, Payee Bank-Canara Bank, South End Road Branch, Bangalore, IFSC Code-CNRB0001173, Payment Details-Mention your IBPS Registration Number, Make payment)
Collect NEFT payment receipt. please check that receipt is properly signed and the details of NEFT UTR Number, IFSC code of the sending branch, name of the sending bank, city, deposit date, amount etc are noted in the challan by the Branch Authorities
Kindly write IBPS CWE-Clerk 2011-12 registration number, name, date of birth and category on the back of the NEFT Receipt
Log on to bank website www.canarabank.com for applying on line by using Registration Number/Roll Number and Password pertaining to IBPS CWE-Clerk 2011-12
If the payment is made through internet banking, take print out of online receipt
After on line registration, candidates are requested to write their registration number on the back of the Payment Challan/NEFT Receipt
The application fee/ intimation charges should be paid between 18th June, 2011 and 01st July, 2012 (both dates inclusive)
Even if the last date of registration changes due to technical reasons, the valid dates for payment of application fee/ intimation charges will not be changed
Please retain the fee payment challan/NEFT receipt safely and the same is to be submitted to the Bank at the time of interview
Payment of fee by demand draft/cheque/money orders/postal orders etc will not be accepted and such applications will be summarily rejected
Selection Procedure: The selection for the post of Probationary Clerks for each State/ Union Territory is on the basis of score obtained in stipulated CWE for Clerks plus group discussion plus Interview
Proficiency (read, write and speak) in official language of the State/UT for which the candidate has applied, will be tested during group discussion and marks will be awarded for the same
The group discussion and Interview will be held at the identified centres
The list of centres will be made available in the on line application
Depending upon the number of vacancies in each State/ Union Territory, the Bank reserves the right to shortlist requisite number of candidates based on the CWE score, academics of the candidates, as decided by the Bank and only those shortlisted candidates will be called for group discussion and interview
The centre and address of the venue, time and date for group discussion and interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates in the call letter and candidates have to attend for the same at their own cost

The final selection for the post of Probationary Clerk is on the basis of rank lists drawn based on the total marks for each State/Union Territory
Mere eligibility/admission to the group discussion/interview/pass in group discussion/interview does not imply that the Bank is satisfied beyond doubt about the candidate’s eligibility and shall not vest any right in a candidate for selection
The Bank would be free to reject the candidature of any candidate at any stage of the recruitment process, if he/ she is found to be ineligible and/ or furnished incorrect or false information/ certificates/ documents or has suppressed any material facts and the fees paid by the ineligible candidates shall be forfeited
If appointed, such a candidate may be summarily removed from the services of the Bank
The Bank reserves the right to change the selection procedure/ hold supplementary selection process, if necessary
The change, if any, shall be intimated to the candidates through our website/ email in advance
Identity Verification: While appearing for the group discussion and interview, the candidate should produce photo identity such as PAN card/passport/driving licence/voter identity card/Bank pass book with photograph/photo embossed credit card/Aadhaar card for verification
If the identity of the candidate is in doubt, the candidate will not be allowed for group discussion and interview
Probation: The selected candidates will be on probation for a period of six (6) months of active service from the date of joining, as per the rules of the Bank

Candidates should have remitted the requisite fee in any branch of Canara Bank or candidates should have remitted the requisite fee in any other Bank through NEFT and should have details of payment made

After filling in all the required particulars correctly, candidates shall submit the application on line
Ensure correctness before submission
Candidates should take utmost care to furnish the correct details while filling in on line application
Submission of incorrect/false information in the online application will render the candidature invalid
Retain a copy of the final on line application print out along with registration number and password safely for your records
The name of the candidate or his/her father/husband etc should be spelt correctly in the application as it appears in the certificates/mark sheets
Any change/alteration found may disqualify the candidature

If shortlisted for group discussion and interview, at the time of group discussion/interview, candidates have to submit the following documents/certificates; print-out of on-line application submitted to the Bank with Photo and Signature affixed at appropriate place; Copy of on-line application submitted to IBPS for CWE for Clerical cadre held in 2011; Payment Challan/NEFT Receipt, Print out of group discussion and Interview call letter; IBPS score card; Proof of date of birth along with proof of certificate for age relaxation, if any; Certificates and Mark lists (semester-wise/year-wise) from SSC/SSLC/X std, 10+2/ PUC/ Intermediate, Graduation, Post Graduation (if any) etc; Caste certificate in Govt of India format, in case of SC/ST/OBC/OBCM category candidates and Medical certificate in case of PwD candidates; any other relevant documents
Originals of the documents should be presented for verification
Candidates will not be allowed to take up group discussion and interview with out production of the documents
Call Letters: The candidates who have been shortlisted will only be called for the group discussion and interview and their details and schedule for group discussion and interview will be made available in Bank’s website www.canarabank.com
All the communications; call letters for group discussion/interview etc, will be sent only to the registered e-mail given by the candidate. Request for sending to different e-mail ID subsequently will not be entertained
Alternatively the call letter for group discussion and interview can be downloaded from the Bank’s website
Bank will not take responsibility for late receipt/non-receipt of call letter/ any communication e-mailed due to technical reasons or whatsoever to the candidate
