Patna University announces Admission to PG, UG, PG Diploma and Certificate Courses 2019

Patna University Admission 2019 - Patna University invites application for admission into Regular/ Self Financing, Post graduate, Undergraduate, PG Diploma and Certificate Courses for the academic Session 2019.


For admission into Undergraduate courses, candidates have to appear in Patna University Common Entrance Test (PUCET) 2019. For B.Ed and LLB courses, the university conducts BEET and BLET exams. Admissions to postgraduate courses are done on the basis of Merit in the qualifying examination.

Patna University Admission 2019 Important Dates

  • Commencement of Application form submission: 02nd April 2019
  • Last date of submission of application form: 15th May 2019
  • Last date for direct admission in B.A. (Hons)., B.Com. (Hons.). Courses & Diploma courses for Directorate of Distance Education: 2nd week of July 2019
  • Last date of receipt of application form under quota from the Colleges / Departments / Institutes in the University Office : 3rd week of July 2019
  • Last date of admission under casual vacancy : 2nd week of Aug 2019
  • Date of commencement of classes : 3rd week of July 2019

Patna University Admission 2019 Application Process

The Application Form is available on the official website www.patnauniversity.ac.in.

Important points for submission of applications for admission in the session 2019-20

  • The applicants must have their own email Id and mobile number for registration and future communications.
  • One Mobile no. and one email id can be used for one registration only.
  • Before making payment please ensure that information filled in is correct and complete in all respect. After making payment no change is possible, however you can edit personal information as many times you want before payment, login to portal and click on Edit Application button.
  • Keep your scan copy of photo and signature ready before filling up form. Photo / signature related instructions.
  • The applicants must ensure that they fulfil the requisite eligibility criteria of the courses they are applying for. The eligibility criteria are mentioned in relevant column of the On-line admission schedule.
  • The appearing candidates may apply for admission in such courses where admission is based on Entrance Test but they must submit the copy of the mark sheet of the previous result before the finalisation of selection list for admission failing which their candidature will not be considered for admission. Mark sheet is mandatory in such courses where admission is based on the marks obtained by the candidates in the previous examinations.
  • The print copy of the duly filled in form complete in all respect along with the self-attested copies of the academic records and other relevant documents will be accepted in the respective Department / College / Institutes concerned separately by the speed post. The address of each of the respective institution is mentioned in respective column of the admission details.
  • Academic records refer to – Marksheet / CLC / TC etc. and documents refer to certificate of caste / Physically handicapped or different quota of the appropriate authority.
  • While paying online if the payment got deducted from your bank account and the form still shows unpaid, you need to report such incidents via mail to support@puonline.co.in it must include your application id , mobile no. and any sms or email received from payment gateway containing any reference number. Follow the same in case you pay more than once for any particular form. Such issues takes 2-5 working days, your patience is highly appreciated in resolving such issues.

Exam Pattern

For B.A (Hons), For B.Com (Hons)

  • Duration: The examination will be of 2 hours.
  • Nature of Questions: There will be objective type questions.
  • Total Marks: The Examination will be of 100 marks.
  • Marking Scheme: Each question will carry 1 mark each.
  • Distribution of questions
    • General Knowledge & Aptitude Test  - 40 Marks
    • Questions related to Humanities and Social Science  - 60 Marks

  • Duration: The Examination will be of 2 hours.
  • Nature of Questions: The Examination will consist of objective type questions
  • Total Marks: The Examination will be of 100 marks.
  • Marking Scheme: Each question will be of 1 mark each.
  • Distribution of questions
    • General Knowledge & Aptitude Test  - 10 Marks
    • Physics, Chemistry & Biology / Mathematics  - 30 Marks each
