Applications are invited from interested candidates (Bonafide Indian nationals only) on plain paper by Department of Physics, University of Calcutta (CU) for PhD in condensed matter physics as part of the national activities in the field of synchrotron/neutron scattering techniques initiated by Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP)

First Class in B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Physics, Joint CSIR UGC (NET) qualified with JRF. Final semester M.Sc. students with CSIR-UGC (NET) JRF can also apply
Calcutta University Research Scholarship Application Form
The research work will be focussed on the study of structure property relations - in addition to synchrotron x-ray scattering, neutron scattering techniques, the conventional laboratory based techniques for magnetism, and transport properties will be used
Selected students will carry out research by utilizing the facilities in Indian beam lines at KEK – Japan, DESY-Germany and Rutherford Appleton Laboratory-UK
The selected students will work under joint supervision of Dr. Aritra Banerjee (CU), Dr. Sudipta Bandy opadhyay (CU), Dr. Mrinmay K. Mukhopadhyay (SINP) and Prof. Milan K. Sanyal (SINP).
