• MGR Government Film and Television Institute is an advanced Institute imparting film techniques and aesthetics of Film, Television Production, Animation & Visual Effects and Allied Subjects and Film Appreciation.

• It is one of the three major institutes in India. The other two are Film and TV Institute of India, Pune, and Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata

• MGR Govt. Film and Television Institute is the only institute which offers four-year degree courses.

Eligibility Criteria for MGR Govt Film and Television Institute Bachelor of Visual Arts Admission 2020

BA (Cinematography)

A Pass in higher secondary (10+2) examination with Physics & Chemistry (or) Vocational Courses with Photography as a special subject (or) Any equivalent qualification with other specialization started above (or) Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (or) Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering.

BVA (Digital Intermediate)

A Pass in higher secondary (10+2) examination with Physics & Chemistry (or) Vocational Courses with Photography as a special subject (or) Any equivalent qualification with other specialization started above (or) Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (or) Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering.

BVA (Audiography)

A Pass in higher secondary (10+2) examination with Physics & Chemistry (or) Vocational Courses with Radio & TV or domestic electronic equipments as special subject (or) Any equivalent qualification with other specialization started above (or) Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (or) Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering.

BVA (Direction and Screenplay Writing)

A Pass in higher secondary (10+2) examination (any group)

Bachelor of Visual Arts (Film Editing)

A Pass in higher secondary (10+2) examination (any group)

BVA (Animation and Visual Effects)

A Pass in higher secondary (10+2) examination (any group) or minimum percentage of Marks required for admission

Age Limit

• The Candidates belonging to all communities except SC/ST should not exceed 24 years of age as on 01st July in respect of all courses.

• For SC/ST the age limit will be 26 years on the above date

MGR Govt Film and Television Institute Bachelor of Visual Arts Admission 2020 Application Process

• For admission to the above courses can be referred from www.tn.gov.in

• All other State SC/ST Candidates will be treated as O.C. Candidates

• The application fee is payable by means of Demand Draft /Bankers Cheque only drawn in favour of Principal, M.G.R. Govt. Film and Television Institute, Tharamani, Chennai-600113 from any Nationalised Bank payable at Chennai

• Cash/Cheque /M.O./Postal Order will not be accepted.

• For availing the forms by post, candidates have to attach a self-addressed envelope of size 30cmx25cm, with postage stamp for Rs 25/- affixed

• Completed applications with the necessary documents should reach Principal, MGR Govt Film and Television Institute, Tharamani, Chennai-600113, latest by 01st September 2020, 05.00 pm
