Eligibility Criteria for GADVASU PhD Admission 2019-20

  1. A Master’s level degree in Animal Biotechnology/Veterinary Biotechnology / Biotechnology/and branch in Veterinary Science / Fisheries/Life Sciences and B.V.Sc. & A.H. or B.Sc. (Biotechnology Medical) or B.Sc. (Hons) Biotechnology Biochemistry / Microbiology & Molecular Genetics or equivalent decree with a minimum OPCA of 5.50 (out of 10.00) or 70% marks or equivalent degree with a minimum OCPA of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or 70% marks or equivalent and a minimum OPCA of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or 55%  marks or an OGPA of 2.00/4.00 or equivalent at Bachelor’s level.
  2. The students will be required to clear courses of major field as deficiency courses, as per the recommendations of the Advisory Committee.
  3. The candidates with B.Sc. (three years degree programme at UG level) will have to clear, pre-requisite courses of one year.

 

Minimum Qualification

  1. A Master’s level degree (M.V.Sc.) in the respective/related discipline and B.V.Sc. & A.H. or equivalent degree with a minimum OCPA of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or 70% marks or equivalent at Master’s level and minimum OCPA of 5.50 (out of 10.00) or 55% marks or an OGPA of 2.00/4.00 or equivalent at Bachelor’s level.

Dairy Engineering

  1. Minimum Qualification: A Master’s level degree M.TEch. (Dairy Engineering)/ M.Tech (Processing and Food Engineering), M.Tech (Food Engineering) with a minimum OCPA of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or 70% marks or equivalent at Master level. They should have a minimum OCPA of 5.50 (out of 10.00) or 55% marks or an OGPA of 2.00/4.00 or equivalent at Bachelor’s level.

 

Dairy Microbiology

  1. Minimum Qualification: A Master’s level degree M.Sc. / M. Tech, Dairy Microbiology/Food Microbiology / M.Sc. (Microbiology), M.Sc./M.Tech. Food Safety and Quality Assurance / Food Safety and Quality Management / M.V. Sc. Microbiology or equivalent decree with a minimum OCPA of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or 70% marks or equivalent degree with minimum OCPA of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or 70% marks or equivalent
  2. They should have a minimum OCPA of 5.50 (out of 10.00) or 55% marks or an OGPA of 2.00/4.00 or equivalent at Bachelor’s level.

 

Agricultural Economics (Animal Husbandry)

  1. Minimum Qualification: A Master’s level decree M.Sc./M.V. Sc. in Agricultural Economics / Dairy Economics or M.A. in Economics with minimum OCPA of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or 70% marks in aggregate.

Selection Process

  1. Selection to the P.hD Programme will be done based on the merit of the marks of qualifying examination (80%) and interview (20%)
  2. For the purpose of admission to P.hD programme, an in service candidate shall be an employee of the University, national institute, Punjab Govt., Union Territory of Chandigarh and Central Government having five years experience of teaching/research/extension in the respective field. Candidate will be accepted only if duly nominated by their respective parent department/institute as in-service candidate.
  3. If the Ph.D. seats after filling from Punjab resident candidates remain vacant, the candidates of other states, who have already applied and appeared in the interview for admission of P.hD Programme, will be considered for admission on merit basis.
  4. In Dairy Microbiology, candidates having M.Tech. (Dairy Microbiology) will be preferred. The selected candidates shall have to deposit the entire free immediately after interview/counseling, failing which, the seat will be offered to the next eligible candidates.   1. Online Application Form for Ph.D. Programmes along with prospectus are available at GADVASU website www.gadvasu.in . Prospectus contains all the details regarding eligibility, schedule of Interview/Admission procedure and reservation of seats etc.
  2. Candidates have to apply online for admission to Ph. Programme. Candidates are required to visit www.gadvasu.in to apply online. There is no other mode to apply.
  3. Online Application along with requisite fee should be submitted by the candidates by the due date and time for admission to various Ph.D. Programmers. The candidates are required to submit the Admission Form (to be downloaded from the university website ten days before the date of interview) complete in all respects at the time of interview.
