GADVASU UG PG and PhD Admission 2019 - Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) Ludhiana invites application for admission to  various UG PG and PhD Program for academic session 2019.

PB.V.Sc. & A.H. is made on the basis of merit in Veterinary Entrance Test (VET) conducted by the university. Admission to B.F.Sc., B. Tech. (Dairy Technology) and B. Tech. (Biotechnology) is on the basis on 10+2 (medical and non-medical) merit (No Entrance Test)

Eligibility Criteria for GADVASU UG PG and PhD Admission 2019

Undergraduate Programs

  1. B.V.Sc. & A.H. (5½-year): The candidate should have a minimum qualification of 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from a recognized Indian Board / University with at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks in aggregate for DP and 40% marks in aggregate for SC/ST & BC categories) excluding optional subject.
  2. B.F.Sc. (4-year programmes), B.Tech. (Dairy Technology) (4-year programme) & B.Tech. (Biotechnology) (4-year programme): The candidate should have a minimum qualification of 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology and English from a recognized Indian Board/University with at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks in aggregates for DP and 40% marks in aggregate for SC/ ST & BC categories) excluding optional subject.

 

Masters’ Programmes

  1. M.V.Sc.: The minimum qualification for admission to M.V.Sc. programme in COVS shall be B.V.Sc. & A.H. or equivalent degree with minimum OCPA of 6.00 (out of 10.00) or at least 60% marks in aggregate from a college recognized by the VCI. The candidate must be registered with the VCI/ State Veterinary Council.
  2. M.Sc. (Biochemistry): The minimum qualification for admission to M.Sc. (Biochemistry) in COVS shall be B.Sc. (Biochemistry)/ B.Sc. (Medical)/B.Sc. (Biotechnology)/B.Sc. (Agriculture)/ B.Tech. (Biotechnology)/B.F.Sc. or equivalent degree with minimum OCPA of 6.00 (out of 10.00) or at least 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized institute.
  3. M.Sc. (Animal Physiology): The minimum qualification for admission to M.Sc. (Animal Physiology) in COVS shall be B.Sc. (Agriculture with Animal Science as elective)/B.Sc. (Medical)/B.Tech. (Biotechnology)/B.F.Sc. or equivalent degree with minimum OCPA of 6.00 (out of 10.00) or at least 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized institute.
  4. M.V.Sc. (Animal Biotechnology)/M.Sc. (Biotechnology): The minimum qualification for admission to M.V.Sc. (Animal Biotechnology) shall be B.V.Sc. & A.H. and for M.Sc. (Biotechnology) shall be B.F.Sc. or B.Sc. (Biotechnology/ Medical) or B.Sc. (Hons.) Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Microbiology and Molecular Genetics or equivalent degree with minimum OCPA/ OGPA of 6.00 (out of 10.00) or at least 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized institute.
  5. M.F.Sc.: The minimum qualification for admission to M.F.Sc. programmes in the College of Fisheries shall be B.F..Sc. (4 year degree programme) from a recognized institute with minimum OCPA of 6.00 (out of 10.00) or at least 60% marks in aggregate.
  6. M.Tech. (Dairy Technology): The minimum qualification for admission to M.Tech. (Dairy Technology) programme in the College of Dairy Science and Technology shall be B.Tech. (Dairy Technology)/B.Sc. (Food Technology)/B.Tech. (Food Technology) (4 year degree) or equivalent degree with minimum OCPA of 6.00 (out of 10.00) or at least 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized institute.
  7. M.Tech. (Dairy Engineering): The minimum qualification for admission to M.Tech. (Dairy Engineering) programme in the College of Dairy Science and Technology shall be B.Tech. (Dairy Technology)/Food Engineering/ Agricultural Engineering (4 year degree) or equivalent degree with minimum OCPA of 6.00 (out of 10.00) or at least 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized institute.
  8. M.Tech. (Dairy Microbiology): The minimum qualification for admission to M.Tech. (Dairy Microbiology) programme in the College of Dairy Science and Technology shall be B.Tech. (Dairy Technology)/B.Sc. (Food Technology)/B.Tech. (Food Technology) (4 year degree) or equivalent degree with minimum OCPA of 6.00 (out of 10.00) or at least 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized institute.
  9. M.Tech. (Dairy Chemistry): The minimum qualification for admission to M.Tech (Dairy Chemistry) programme in the college of Dairy Science & Technology shall be B.Tech (Dairy Technology)/B.Sc. (Food Technology)/B.Tech Food Technology (4 year degree) or equivalent degree with minimum OCPA of 6.00 (out of 10.00) or atleast 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized institute.

Note: Preference will be given to the candidate with B.Tech. (Dairy Technology) degree.

  1. M.Sc. (Agricultural Economics (Animal Husbandry)): The minimum qualification for admission to M.Sc. [Agricultural Economics (Animal Husbandry)] programme in the College of Dairy Science and Technology shall be B.Tech. (Dairy Technology)/ B.Sc. Dairying/ Dairy Science/ Agri./ Agri. (Hons.)/B.Sc./B.F.Sc. or B.A. (Hons.) in Economics with Mathematics as one of the subjects / B.V.Sc. & A.H./ B.V.Sc./ B.Sc. Animal Science with minimum OCPA/ OGPA of 6.00 (out of 10.00) or at least 60% marks in aggregate.

Note: Preference will be given to the candidate with B.Tech. (Dairy Technology), B.V.Sc. & A.H. and B.F.Sc. degree.

  1. The minimum requirement for admission to any Masters’ programmes for in-service candidates in the constituent colleges of GADVASU shall be an OCPA/ OGPA of 5.50 (out of 10.00) or 55% marks in aggregate with two years professional experience (after completion of Bachelor’s degree) in any department of Punjab Government/ Union Territory of Chandigarh/ Central Government/ other Semi- Government/ Private sector organizations on the last date of receipt of applications.

College of Veterinary Science

  1. The minimum qualification for admission to Ph.D. programme shall be Master’s degree (M.V.Sc.) in respective/ related* discipline and B.V.Sc. & A.H. or equivalent degree.
  2. The minimum requirement for admission to Ph.D. programme shall be a minimum OCPA of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or 70% marks or equivalent at Master’s level. They should have a minimum OCPA of 5.50 (out of 10.00) or 55% marks or an OGPA of 2.00/4.00 or equivalent at Bachelor’s level.

 

College of Animal Biotechnology

  1. The minimum qualification for admission to Ph.D. in Animal Biotechnology/ Biotechnology shall be a Master’s degree in Animal Biotechnology/ Veterinary Biotechnology/ Biotechnology/ Any branch in Veterinary Science/Fisheries/ Life Sciences. . They should have done B.V.Sc. & A.H. or B.Sc. (Biotechnology/ Medical) or B.Sc. (Hons.) Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Microbiology & Molecular Genetics/B.F.Sc. or equivalent degree.
  2. The minimum requirement for admission to Ph.D. programme shall be a minimum OCPA of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or 70% marks or equivalent at Master’s level. They should have a minimum OCPA of 5.50 (out of 10.00) or 55% marks or an OGPA of 2.00/ 4.00 or equivalent at Bachelor’s level.

 

College of Fisheries

  1. The minimum qualification for admission to Ph.D. programme shall be Master’s degree (M.F.Sc.) in respective/ related* discipline and B.F.Sc. (4 year degree programme).t
  2. The minimum requirement for admission to Ph.D. programme shall be a minimum OCPA of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or 70% marks or equivalent at Master’s level. They should have a minimum OCPA of 5.50 (out of 10.00) or 55% marks or an OGPA of 2.00/ 4.00 or equivalent at Bachelor’s level.

 

College of Dairy Science & Technology

  1. Dairy Technology - The minimum qualification for admission to Ph.D. programmes shall be M.Tech. in respective/related* disciplines (Dairy Technology/M.Sc. Food Science/M.Tech Food Tech.) or equivalent degree.
  2. The minimum requirement for admission to Ph.D. programme shall be a minimum OCPA of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or 70% marks or equivalent at Master’s level. They should have a minimum OCPA of 5.50 (out of 10.00) or 55% marks or an OGPA of 2.00/4.00 or equivalent at Bachelor’s level.
  3. Dairy Engineering - The minimum qualification for admission to Ph.D. (Dairy Engineering) programme shall be M.Tech. (Dairy Engineering)/ M.Tech. (Processing and Food Engineering), M.Tech. (Food Engineering) with minimum OCPA of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or at least 70% marks or equivalent at Masters level. They should have a minimum OCPA of 5.50 (out of 10.00) or 55% marks or an OCPA of 2.00/4.00 or equivalent at Bachelor’s level.
  4. Agricultural Economics - The minimum qualifications for admission to Ph.D. Agricultural Economics (Animal Husbandry) programme shall be M.Sc/M.V.Sc. in Agricultural Economics / Dairy Economics / Livestock Economics / Veterinary Economics / Animal Husbandry Economics or M.A. in Economics with minimum OCPA of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or at least 70% marks in aggregate.

 

Selection Process

  1. B.V.Sc. & A.H.: A consolidated merit list of the eligible candidates based on the marks obtained in the entrance test shall be prepared.
  2. The candidate obtaining higher marks in Biology in the Entrance Test; The candidate obtaining higher marks in Chemistry in the Entrance Test; Candidate senior in age.
  3. B.F.Sc./ B.Tech. (Dairy Technology)/ B.Tech. (Biotechnology) Programmes: A merit list of the eligible candidates based on the marks obtained in the 10+2 examination shall be prepared for each programme.
  4. The candidate obtaining higher marks in Biology/Mathematics in the 10+2 examination.
  5. The candidate obtaining higher marks in Chemistry in the 10+2 examination.
  6. Master’s Programmes: Candidates other than Punjab for admission to Master’s programmes will be considered in the respective discipline as opted in ICAR AIEEA-PG-2019 on the basis of merit of AIEEA-PG-2019 entrance examination including for reserved categories.
  7. Candidates resident of Punjab will be considered on the merit based on OCPA / OGPA / % age of marks of qualifying degree of the candidates. Candidates other than Punjab who have already applied as per specified date, will be considered on the merit based on OCPA / OGPA / % age of marks of qualifying degree of the candidates.
  1. In case of tie in the merit list of ICAR AIEEA-PG-2019 entrance examination, a candidate getting higher percentage of marks in qualifying examination shall be ranked higher. In case of further tie, the candidate senior in age shall be considered.
  2. Ph.D. Programmes : Admission to Ph.D. programmes shall be based on the merit of candidates resident of Punjab as below.
  3. Performance in qualifying examination 80%; Interview 20%; The candidates shall appear in the counselling based upon the merit so derived. The candidate must secure a minimum of 50% marks in interview to be eligible for Ph.D. admission.
  4.  In case of tie in the merit list for Ph.D. programmes, a candidate getting higher percentage of marks in qualifying examination shall be ranked higher. In case of further tie, the candidate senior in age shall be considered.

GADVASU UG PG and PhD Admission 2019 Application Process

  1. Application for B.F.Sc./ B.Tech. (Dairy Technology)/ B.Tech. (Biotechnology) Programmes is “Offline”.
  2. The candidate has to download Application Form from University website www.gadvasu.in
  3. Duly filled Application Form in the paper form along with requisite certificate (10+2 detailed marks) and draft of Rs. 1500/- in favour of ‘Comptroller GADVASU’ payable at Ludhiana should be submitted in the office of Registrar, GADVASU by due date during working hours.
  4. Fill Online Application Form for B.V.Sc. & A.H. and PG Programmes University website www.gadvasu.in
  5. Candidates should visit www.gadvasu.in to apply “Online” for B.V.Sc. & A.H. along with requisite fee for VET-GADVASU by the due date and time as specified.
  6. Visit www.gadvasu.in, download prospectus and click on “Apply Now” for admission in B.V.Sc. & A.H. or for PG Programmes. Application in paper form will not be accepted for B.V.Sc. & A.H or for PG Programmes. After closer of date, online application form will not be available.
  7. Registration of the candidate shall be the first step of “Online Application”. Once the Registration is done, candidate can login to the portal using his/her email and password.
  8. Select the name of the Programme (B.V.Sc. & A.H. or PG) and the category to which a candidate belongs (General/SC/ST/BC).
