Located in sylvan surroundings in a picturesque green valley, the self-contained campus is spread over a 60 acre plot of undulating landscape with all modern educational, institutional and residential facilities. The library with more than 65000 books and 350 journals and periodicals is one of the greatest attractions for the knowledge seekers. The campus ambience fosters creative thinking. Paradigm shift in the banking and financial environment of the country has created an emergent need for a new genre of management professionals to meet the emerging challenges in managing Banks, Financial Institutions (FIs), Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) and Corporates. To cater to this need, NIBM conducts a One Year Post-Graduate Programme in Banking and Finance (PGPBF). The NIBM is recognized by the University of Pune as an approved Centre for Post-Graduate Research and by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science and Technology, GOI, under the scheme of Scientific and Industrial Research Organizations.
The one year Post-Graduate Programme in Banking and Finance (PGPBF) is designed as a contemporary, rigorous, innovative and practical source of management education. The Programme is pitched to provide to the financial system, on a regular basis, a pool of talented youngsters thoroughly trained and fully prepared with Analytical Skills and Perspectives in Banking and Finance for directly taking up managerial responsibilities in the financial sector.
As a recognition of PGPBF, major banks like State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Bank of Baroda, Union Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra and EXIM Bank have instituted Professorial Chairs in IT, Corporate Governance, Risk Management, Integrated Treasury Management, HRM and International Banking and Finance respectively.
