PG Degree programme for teaching faculties working in engineering colleges and polytechnic colleges in Tamilnadu through Modular Based Credit Banking Scheme
Applications are invited from eligible candidates from engineering colleges and polytechnic colleges for admission to the following post graduate degree programme (self supporting) offered at Anna University of Technology, Tiruchirappalli through Modular Based Credit Banking Scheme during the academic year 2010-11
Structural Engineering, Applied Electronics, Thermal Engineering, Communication systems, Power systems engineering, Computer science and engineering, Embedded system technologies, Systems engineering and operations research
Application fee Rs 600/- (Rs 650/- by post) drawn as demand draft in favour of the Director (admissions) Anna University of Technology, Tiruchirappalli. Applications can be obtained in person or by post from the Centre for Academic Excellence Anna University of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Tiruchirappalli-620024 or can be downloaded from the website www.tau.edu.in/admission

Aim: To strengthen the qualification of the teachers of technical institutions without disturbing their normal duties through continuous learning process and to enable them to acquire Master’s degree through Modular Based Credit Banking Scheme
Organization of the programme: This programme is organized by two modes of study; Faculty development programme (FDP); CD-based instruction and content (CDIC)
The faculty development programme (FDP) is conducted in the selected centres as per the academic schedule prepared by Anna University of Technology, Tiruchirappalli. The FDP classes will be handled by the experts from educational institutions as well as from the industries
In CD based instruction and content (CDIC), all the instructions and course contents will be provided in CDs to the candidates periodically
Eligibility: The candidates seeking admission to the M.E. degree programme through Modular Based Credit Banking Scheme shall be a teaching faculty in Technical institution. They should have passed an appropriate degree examination as specified below
M.E. (Structural Engineering): B.E./B.Tech (Civil Engineering)
M.E. (Thermal Engineering): B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical/Production/Automobile/Aeronautical/ Mechatronics/Marine/Industrial/Manufacturing)
M.E. (Power Systems Engineering): B.E./B.Tech (EEE/I&C/E&I)
M.E. (Embedded System Technologies): B.E. (EEE/ECE/CSE/I&C/E&I); B.Tech (IT/Electronics/Instrumentation)
M.E. (Applied Electronics): B.E./B.Tech (EEE/ECE/Electronics/E&I/I&C/ Instrumentation/Biomedical/ Biomedical Instrumentation)/B.E. (Medical Electronics)
M.E. (Communication Systems): B.E./B.Tech (ECE/Electronics)
M.E. (Computer Science and Engineering): B.E./B.Tech (EEE/ECE/Electronics/IT/CSE/I&C/E&I/ Instrumentation) or MCA or M.Sc 5 years integrated (IT/CS/Software Engineering)/B.E. (Computer Hardware and Software)
M.E. (Systems Engineering and Operations Research): B.E./B.Tech (all branches) or M.Sc (Maths/Statistics) M.Sc 5 years integrated (CS/IT/Software Engineering) or MCA
Selection criteria: The selection for admission/enrollment to this programme is based on the percentage of marks in the qualifying examination and experience
Admission: The admission for this programme will be done by the director (admissions), Anna University of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Tiruchirappalli-620024. A candidate seeking admission to this programme, shall be allotted to the nearest centre. The candidate has to register for all the courses prescribed for the particular module and must forward the application form to the coordinator through the Head of the institution where they are employed
The admission/enrollment to this programme ceases automatically if the candidate quits the teaching job and the fees paid will not be refunded
Duration and structure of the programme: The minimum and maximum period for completion of this pg degree programme is 6 semesters and 14 semesters respectively
The classes will be conducted as a sequence (minimum 3 days to maximum 9 days) of Faculty Development Programmes throughout the semester. Assessment will be made on Saturdays and Sundays
