AWIB Membership will offer Opportunities to women of Asia to build their Network, Horne their Skills and Learn. They will able to attend a host of useful workshops, seminars and conferences, and receive special invitations to receptions and events sponsored by AWIB and by their partners

Purpose and Philosophy of Asian Women In Business Scholarship (AWIB) 2015

The AWIB Scholarship is awarded to exceptional Asian women who demonstrate a commitment to scholarship, leadership, community service, and/or entrepreneurship

Founded in 1995, Asian Women in Business (AWIB) is the only non-profit, tax-exempt organization in the country with the primary mission of assisting Asian women entrepreneurs

Over the years, AWIB has expanded its mission to address the identified needs and issues affecting the business and professional development of Asian Americans

Asian Women In Business Scholarship (AWIB) Scholarship Award 2015

Each winner will receive $2,500

One or two applicants may be considered for an additional $2,500 (a total of $5,000) if qualified as lower income and if funds are available

Awards are expected to be applied towards tuition and other education-related expenses  

Eligibility for Asian Women In Business Scholarship (AWIB) 2015

Applicants must:

Be female and of Asian or Pacific Islander ancestry (includes those who can trace their ancestry from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, or Vietnam)

Be enrolled full-time in an accredited 4-year undergraduate institution in the U.S. at the time of application and award

Maintain a minimum 3.0 (out of 4.0) undergraduate GPA at the time of application

Have one or more of the following:

i) A leadership role in a community endeavor

ii) A record of entrepreneurial achievement

iii) U.S. Citizen or permanent resident

iv) For the additional $2,500, financial need must be demonstrated by submitting a copy of the most current FAFSA form AND the Financial Aid Award Notice from your institution for the 2015-16 academic year

Do not use acronyms or uncommon abbreviations; if you include college organizations in your Leadership Positions and Volunteer Work, please attach the college’s official description of the organization

The duly filled in printed copy of the application form along with relevant documents (essays, letter of recommendation) must be sent to “Asian Women In Business, 42 Broadway, Suite 1748, New York, NY 10004” (all materials must be postmarked by 01st October 2015)
