ES.3 SECTION
TURKISH GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP
- Applications are invited from Indian nationals on plain paper in the prescribed format for the award of Turkish Government Scholarship tenable from October, to undertake eight (8) months research at a Turkish University or any Institution of Higher Education in Turkey. Number of scholarships offered by the Government of Turkey is four and would be available for studies in the following subjects:
- Architecture
- Earthquake Engineering
- Archaeology
- History
- Age: Below 40 years on a date of May.
- Qualification: (i) Architecture: Completed Bachelor’s degree in Architecture with 60% marks. (ii) Earthquake Engineering: Completed Master’s degree in Applied Geology or allied field with 60% marks. (iii) Archaeology: Completed Master’s degree in related subject with atleast 55% marks. (iv) History: Completed Master’s degree with atleast 55% marks.
- Experience: At least two consecutive years study/teaching/research/practical experience as on a date of May, in the subject field selected after obtaining the prescribed qualifications. Fluent in Turkish, English or French.
- Value of Scholarship: 30,000.00 Turkish Lira per month. This amount has been fixed taking into consideration only a single person’s requirements.
- Passage Cost: Travel expenses from India to Turkey and back will have to be borne by the candidate or his/her employer/sponsor.
- Documents to be Attached: Photocopies of all degrees/certificates along with the certificate including date of birth.
- Last Date for Submission of Application: Application on plain paper (as per format) along with the required photocopies of documents with a copy of recent passport size photograph pasted on application should reach the Section Officer, ES. 3 Section, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Education, A.1/W.3 C.R. Barracks, Kasturba Gandhi Marg, new Delhi-110001 latest by a date of May. Application received after that date will not be entertained.
Notes: (1) Equivalent foreign degree will also be considered. (2) Candidates who have already been abroad for study/training/specialization for more than six months on a scholarship or on his/her own are eligible to apply only if they stayed in India for at least two consecutive years after their return from, abroad. (3) applications from candidates who are staying abroad at the time of application will not be considered. (4) Candidates should have sufficient knowledge about Turkey as well as of India. (5) Applications of candidate in a subject field other than specified above will not be considered. (6) Employed persons must send their application through their employers with `No Objection Certificate’. However, an advance application can be submitted with the understanding that the application through employer will follow. (7) Candidate not possessing requisite qualification need not apply. (8) Incomplete applications will not be considered. The final selection rests with the Government of Turkey. If no communication is received from this ministry on the application till on a date of June, it may be presumed that the applicant has not been considered suitable for nominations for the scholarship. (9) Canvassing by candidate in any form will disqualify him/he for consideration of the scholarship.

Notifications are issued in April.
