Applications are invited, on plain paper, as per format from Indian nationals residing in India for the award of Two (2) Scholarships offered by the government of Slovak, one each for University Study (PG level) and postgraduate doctoral studies in Slovak universities latest by a date in the month of May.

Subject-Fields: 1. Mathematics 2. Veterinary Medicine.

Requirements of Scholarships are as under:

• for university studies age limit is between 18-26 years.
• for the doctoral studies age limit is 23-25 years.
• the studies will be provided in Slovak language.
• the applicants who do not know Slovak language have to undergo one year’s course in Slovak language in Slovakia at the Institute of Language Preparation for Foreign studies.
• after completing Slovak language course, the application shall have to pass the acceptance examination.
• the scholarship grant for university study is 3500 Slovak Crowns per month and for doctoral studies it is 4000 Slovak Crowns per month.
• the health insurance for the students of university study is between 1000-1300 crowns per month.

Passage Cost: Travel cost from India to Slovak republic and back is to borne by the candidates or his/her sponsors/employers.

Initial Expenses: On arrival in Slovak Embassy, foreign students are required to be prepared to pay initial expenses upto Slovak Crown 3500-4000 for miscellaneous fees and charges connected with the beginning of their studies such as translations, clothing and validation of documents, etc.

Notes: (1) The following documents must be attached with the application:

• Attested copy of the Certificate certifying the date of birth. (b) Attested copies of mark-sheets of qualifying examinations (C) Attested copies of all degrees/diplomas/certificates, etc. (d) A clear and precise programme of study/research and questions proposed to be undertaken in donor country. (e) A recent passport size photograph of candidate to be affixed on the prescribed application form. (2) Application in the subject field other than those specified above will not be considered. (3) Candidates who have been already abroad for study/specialization/training for a period exceeding six months either on scholarship or on their own are eligible to apply only if they have been in India for at least two consecutive years after their return from abroad. (4) Applications of candidates who are at present residing abroad will not be considered (5) Candidates should have sufficiently good knowledge of India and the donor country. (6) Applications which do not contain any of the required documents will be treated as incomplete and will not be considered. (7) No correspondence will be entertained with candidates if not selected for interview/scholarship. (8) Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification. (9) Candidates must send their applications duly sponsored by their employers along with two letters of recommendations by university Professors. (10) Applications received after the prescribed last date will not be entertained. (11) The decision of the Selection Committee with regard to selection of the candidates or otherwise will be final. (12) Finally selected candidates are required to confirm from other sources if the scholarship amount, etc., would be sufficient for them in Slovak Embassy. Candidates would apply for the above scholarship on plain paper (preferably typed) furnishing the full details/particulars to the Section Officer (ES. 1), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Secondary Education and Higher Education, External Scholarship Division, A.1/W.3, Curzon Road Barracks, Kasturba Gandhi Marg, New Delhi-110001 latest by a day of the month of May.
