A Star India Youth Scholarship

SIA Youth Scholarship

Full scholarships for studies in Singapore offered by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*star) and Singapore Airlines (SIA) to outstanding Indian nationals born between 1992 and 1996

Studies in Singapore at selected secondary schools and junior colleges leading to the Singapore-Cambridge general certificate of education (advanced) level or equivalent, will commence in 2011 for successful candidates

Value of award: Exemption from school fees (excluding miscellaneous fees) and examination fees; economy-class air passage at the start and end of scholarship term; annual allowances of S$2,000 (secondary level) and S$2,400 (pre-university level); setting-in allowance (once only) of S$400 (secondary level) and S$500 (pre-university level); hostel accommodation, subsidized medical benefits and accident insurance cover provided

There is no bond attached to both scholarships

 

Application period: 01st June, 2010 (10 a.m. Singapore time/7.30 a.m. India time) to 15th July, 2010 (10 p.m. Singapore time/7.30 p.m. India time)

Application procedure

Step 1: Visit www.moe.gov.sg/education/scholarships/astar (A*star India Youth Scholarship) or www.moe.gov.sg/education/scholarships/sia (SIA Youth Scholarship)

Step 2: Submit application via online system or download application form and send to A*Star India/SIA Youth Scholarships C/o School Placement and Scholarships branch ministry of education, 1, North Buona Vista Drive, level 3 Podium block, Singapore-138675

A* Star India Youth Scholarship (4-year studies from secondary 3 to pre-university 2)

Year of birth: 1994 to 1996

Standard completed in 2010: standard B

Academic requirements: At least an average of 80% with English as first language in the final standards 7 & 8 examinations

SIA Youth Scholarship (2-year studies in Pre-university 1 &2)

Year of birth: 1992 to 1994

Standard completed in 2010: Standard 10

Academic requirements: At least an average of 85% with English as first language in 10 National/state board examinations

Selection tests and interview (in India): Only short-listed candidates will be notified to attend the selection tests (August/September 2010) and interviews (October/November 2010)
