The National University of Singapore invites applications to its graduates programmes (leading to a M.Sc or P.hD) by research in the Faculty of Science. Successful candidates will undertake research in a chosen field of study under the guidance of supervisors and write up a thesis for examination. They will also be required to attend and pass courses.
For admission, the applicant must have a good relevant bachelor’s degree and the ability to pursue research in the proposed field of study. Applicants who wish to pursue a doctoral degree will need to pass a qualifying examination by the end of the third semester.
The minimum and maximum periods of candidature for both full-time and part-time candidates are one and three years for master’s degrees. and two and five years for doctoral degrees respectively.
NUS Scholarships: The University offers attractive research scholarships which provide full-time graduate programme candidates with a monthly stipend of S$ 1500 and a full research fee subsidy. No bond is required.
Research scholars may also be asked to assist in the work of Departments, for which they can earn up to a maximum of S$ 16,000 (gross) per annum.
The closing date for application for Semester I, of the forthcoming year intake is in December.
