NOMINATIONS FOR THE FOLLOWING NCTSTC AWARDS

 

 

 

 

(i) National Awards for Science Popularisation (Rs. 1,00,000).

• National Awards for Science Popularisation Among Children (Rs. 50,000).
• Nationals Awards for Science Popularisation Among Children (RS. 50,000).

These awards have been instituted to recognize outstanding efforts aimed at popularising science and technology and promoting a scientific attitude among people. These awards will be announced on the National Science Day, on a date of February.

• Eligibility:
• This scheme is open to resident Indian citizens/institutions only, except those individuals who are employed in the Ministry of Science and Technology, i.e., Department of Science and Technology/Department of Scientific and Industrial Research/Department of Biotechnology.
• For these National Awards the outstanding work/efforts of the past five calendar years will be considered. Individuals/institutions already awarded in any other scheme run by the government of India shall not be eligible.
• If more than one individual/institution is selected for an award, the amount of that award will be shared equally among them, unless otherwise specified.
• Participation in this scheme will be by nomination only. Direct applications, or self-nominations will not be considered. Nominations can be made only in the specified format.

• Person Eligible to Nominate: Any person can send in nominations for these awards giving the name of the nominee, complete mailing address with PIN code and the basis of nomination, along with nominator’s own name, address and highest educational qualification. Incomplete nominations will not be considered.
• Last Date: Nomination form duly completed in all respects may be sent to Scientist “G” & Head (NCSTC), Department of Science and Technology, Technology Bhawan, New Mehrauli Road, New Delhi-110016, so as to reach him on or before a date of November month of the year in question. Nomination forms, incomplete in any way, or unaccompanied by the requisite information are likely to be summarily rejected.

Notifications for the programme are published in October.
