AWARD OF RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP IN VARIOUS

ASPECT OF TRIBAL DEVELOPMENT

Applications in the prescribed format are invited for the “Award of Doctoral and Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship in Various Aspects off Tribal Development” from research scholars with a background of Social Sciences, Agriculture, Medicine, etc., and who are already registered for Ph.D/Post-Doctoral with recognised University. The study will be field oriented with obligation to work in tribal villages, if necessary.

The terms and condition governing the grant of fellowship is given below:

• Period of Fellowship: For both Doctoral and Post-Doctoral fellowship will be ordinarily for two years which may be extended upto a maximum for three years, only on the basis of request by the State Government as well as recommendation of guide. If a candidate availing of the fellowship chooses to discontinue without submission of the thesis he will be required to refund the fellowship amount drawn from this Ministry.

• Rate of Fellowship: (i) The amount of Post-Doctoral fellowship will be Rs. 3200 (Rupees three thousand and two hundred only) per month and for Doctoral Fellowship Rs. 2800 (Rupees two thousand and eight hundred only) per month. (ii) The fellowship will also carry annual contingency grant of Rs. 10000 (Rupees ten thousand and only) for the Post-Doctoral and Doctoral stages for meeting approved contigent expenditure connected with the research study.

• Government Servants: The candidates employed in the government services should send a “No Objection Certificate” (NOC) from the competent authority. The eligibility to draw the fellowship amount will be governed by respective service rules.

• Application typed in the format along with copies of the certificates, paper published, certificate from the employer (in case of employed candidate) and duly forwarded by the Head of the Department for the University where the candidate is registered, must reach the Director, Tribal Research Institute (TRI)/Director, Tribal Development Department or equivalent officer of the State in which the field work is proposed to be conducted with a advance copy to Research officer (R & P Unit), Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Room No. 217, 2 nd Floor, D’ Wing, Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi-110001, latest by a date in the month of January.
