Notes: (1) The following must be attached with the application: (a) Attested of the mark-sheet of the qualifying examination; and Attested copy of the certificate certifying the date of birth. (b) Attested copies of all other degree and diploma/certificates, etc. (c) Where grades are mentioned, the candidate must indicate the conversion formula adopted by the University Institution and should indicate equivalent percentage of marks. (2) Candidates, who are awaiting the results, need not apply if result is not declared by last date for application. (3) Equivalent foreign degrees will be considered. (4) M.Phil would be treated as equivalent to one year research experience. Unless a certificate from the University is enclosed stating the duration of the M.Phil course of that University. (5) Candidates who have already been abroad for study/research/raining for more than six months at a time either on a scholarship or on their own, are eligible to apply only if they have been in India for at least two years after their return from abroad. Applications of candidates, who are abroad, will not be considered. (6) Master’s Degree means MA/M.Sc/M.Tech/ME/MBA/M. Fisheries. B.Sc (Engg.), B. Tech, B.E, etc., are treated as equivalent to bachelor’s degree. (7) Candidates should of Japan. (8) Applications in subject-fields, other than those prescribed, will not be considered. Separate applications are to be submitted by candidates applying for more than one subject. But all required documents are to be attached with each application. Applications in which the subject has not been indicated shall be rejected. (9) Employed candidates must send their applications through their employers with “No Objection Certificate”. However, an advance application can be submitted with the understanding that the application through employer should reach before the date of interview. Advance application must be complete in all respects. (10) All the candidates called for interview for the scholarship will have to undergo Japanese Language test irrespective of the subject for which they are applying. However, the performance in the Japanese Language test will not affect the selection of candidates except those applying for Japanese Language. (11) Candidates must attach with the application a description in atleast 600 words of his project/proposal of study/research to be undertaken in Japan. (12) In case no interview letter is received by a candidate, who applied in response to the advertisement by a date of July, it may be presumed that he/she has not been selected. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard. (13) Applications, which are incomplete will not be considered. (14) Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidature of the applicants. (15) While indicating the period of past experience and stay abroad, candidate should mention the specific dates. (16) As these scholarships are offered by foreign Govts., the applications should be submitted in English only. (17) Candidates who do not possess the essential qualifications need not apply. (18) The decision of Selection Committee shall be final. No representation in the regard will be entertained. (19) The final Selection of the nominated candidates rests with the Government of Japan. (20) Mere fulfillment of minimum requirements as laid down in the advertisement does not qualify a candidate for interview. Interview letters are only to limited number of candidates after their applications are examined by the committee of expects. (21) It is very important that applicants who are in employment to which they wish to return should have an assurance that if their nomination is successful, they will be granted sufficient leave of absence.
Candidates should apply for the scholarship on a plain paper preferably typed or neatly handwritten with a recent passport size photograph, in the prescribed proforma to the Section Officer, ES.3 Section, Department of Secondary Education and higher Education, A.1/W.3 Curzon Road Barracko, Kasturba Gandhi Marg, New Delhi-110001 by a date of June.
