CZECH GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP

 

Applications are invited, on plain paper, in the prescribed format from Indian nationals residing in India for the award of Two (2) Scholarships offered by the Government of Czech of Ph.D Study Programme in Czech Republic latest by a date of February, in the subject fields (i) Mining and Geology, (ii) Nuclear Engineering, (iii) Environmental Sciences, (iv) Forestry, (v) Agriculture, (Vi) Tropical and Sub-tropical Agriculture.

• Value: 4500 Czech Crowns per month.

There is no tuition and medical care is free of charge for scholarship holders. Board and accommodation and reduced fares for public transport, if available, are paid by the students under the same conditions as for the Czech students.

Note: For studies extended beyond regular length of study plus one year, students are expected to pay the special fee charged by the University. The standard length of study at Ph.D level is three years.

Duration: As per rules of Czech Universities.

 

• Age:Not exceeding 35 years as on a date of February.
• Qualifications: Uniformly good academic record with at least 60% marks at Master’s degree level in Science/Engineering/Technology relating to the field of study or equivalent qualifications in the subject selected or in the allied field. A summary of topics and question for study should be furnished. Applicants who graduated from Czech universities enjoy priority over other candidates.
• Language Course: Selected candidates who do not have the knowledge of Czech Language are required to undergo Language and preparatory course for 6-12 months depending on their command of the language.
• Interview/Examination: The University may generally to the selection on the basis of application accompanied by the necessary documents, however, if the University is not satisfied with the documents, then it has the right to call the applicant for an interview or examination, before admission to the study course after he/she reaches Czech Republic.
• Essential Experience: At least two years teaching/research/practical experience as on a date of February in the subject field selected, after obtaining the prescribed qualifications. Successful completion of M.Phil will be counted towards one year experience unless a certificate from the University is attached stating the duration of M.Phil course.
• Passage Cost: Travel expenses from India to Czech and back will be borne by the candidate or his/her sponsor/employers.
• Initial Expenses: On arrival in Czech Republic, foreign students are required to be prepared to pay initial expenses upto Czk 3000-5000 for miscellaneous fees and charges connected with the beginning of their studies such as translations, clothing and validation of documents, etc.

Notes: The following documents must be attached with the application (a) Attested copy of the Certificate certifying the date of birth, (b) Attested copies of mark-sheet of qualifying examinations, (c) Attested copies of all degrees/diplomas/certificates, etc. (d) A clear and precise programme of study research and questions proposed to be undertaken in donor country, (e) A recent passport size photograph of candidate to be affixed on the prescribed application form. (1) Application in the subject field other than those specified above will not be considered. (2) Candidates who have been already abroad for study/specialization/training for a period exceeding six months either on scholarship or on their own are eligible to apply only if they have been in India for at least two consecutive years after their return from abroad as on a date of February. (3) Application of candidates who are at present residing abroad will not considered. (4) Candidates should have sufficiently good knowledge of India and the donor country. (5) Applications which do not contain any of the required documents will be treated as incomplete and will not be considered. (6) No correspondence will be entertained with candidates if not selected for interview/scholarship. (7) Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification. (8) Candidates must send their applications duly sponsored by their employers along with two letters of recommendation by University Professors. (9) Applications received after the prescribed last date will not be entertained. (10) The decision of the Selection Committee with regard to selection of the candidate will be final. (11) Candidates must satisfy themselves about the adequacy of the scholarship award (Value, etc.) before applying. Once an application is received it will be presumed that the candidate is satisfied with the award indicated and no queries/representations will be entertained thereafter.

Candidates should apply for the above scholarship on plain paper (preferably typed) furnishing the full details/particulars to the Section Officer, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Secondary Education & Higher Education, External Scholarship Division, (ES. 1 Section), A.1/W.3 Curzon Road Barracks, Kasturba Gandhi Marg, New Delhi-110001 latest by a date of February.
