The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) holds a Competitive Examination for filling up vacancies of Scientists of the ARS in the pay scale of Rs. 8000-275-13500 in the ICAR Institutes, combined with National Eligibility Test (NET) for recruitment of Lecturers and Assistant Professors by the State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) and for award of ICAR Senior Research Fellowship. The selected candidates for Agricultural Research Service will be required to serve the Institute to which they are posted until they find appointment for higher positions through selection at other Institutes. The examination will be held in October. The exact dates will be announced in due course.
(i) Candidates declared successful in the examination for the ARS will be recommended for appointment in the Indian Council of Agricultural Research in the scale Rs. 8000-275-13500.
The candidates to be called for viva voce will be in the ratio of 1: 5. The selection of candidates for viva voce will be made on the basis of marks obtained in the written examination and weightage given to the marks obtained by the candidates in Intermediate, Graduate and Post-graduate examinations.

Candidates must select the Centre of Examination carefully.
No Request for Change of Centre will be entertained.
In addition to above backlog vacancies hitherto lying vacant on the basis of previous examinations under or SC, ST and OBC categories are also proposed to be filled up through this examination as per details given in an annexure that is published along with the advertisement. This is being done as a special drive to fill up vacancies reserved for those categories.
Note: Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances nor can the fee be held in reserve for any other examination or selection. Candidates claimining fee remission on account of being SC/ST must attach a copy of SC/ST certificate from the prescribed authority.
Plan of Examination: There will be three papers in the written examination.

Note: A candidate must send the following documents with his/her application:
The candidates applying for SRF must attach the mark-sheets for Higher Secondary/Intermediate, BA/B.Sc and M.Sc to assess their academic performance for Award of Senior Research Fellowship.
For details of vacancies, age limits, educational qualifications, etc., please refer to the published advertisement (of ASRB) in Employment News, normally in the month of June. Last date of receipt of applications (usually) is July.
Notifications are published in Employment News in June.
