UP Postgraduate medical entrance examination – 2010

For MD/MS/MDS/Post graduate diploma seats in CSM medical university and UP state medical college

Place and date of examination: Lucknow, Sunday, 28th February, 2010

The examining body of CSM medical university is responsible for receiving the applications, the conduct of the examination and preparation of a merit list of candidates who have appeared at the examination. The examining body is not responsible for the counseling, offer of admission and the process of admission of the candidates to different colleges/university

Candidates are required to assess their eligibility themselves before applying. The examining body will not assess their eligibility. The eligibility will be checked from original documents at the time of counseling/admission and candidates found not eligible will be denied admission for which they themselves will be responsible.

Important information: Candidates paying fee through cash at Axis Bank can fill online application only after 2 days of making payment. Candidates making payment through internet payment gateway (debit/credit card) mode can apply instantly. Bank charges (Rs 20/- for cash deposit and Rs 40/- for internet payment gateway) will have to be borne by applicant.

When submitting paper application please send application by speed/registered post only. Applications sent by courier are not acceptable. Candidates should send paper applications early so that there is no postal delay. The examining body shall not be responsible for postal delays or loss and will not consider any representation regarding the same. Paper applications will not be accepted by hand. A Bank draft will have to be attached with this paper application for which the bank charges will have to be borne by the candidates.

Candidates are required to assess their eligibility, as given in the eligibility section of the information brochure, themselves before applying. The examining body will not assess their eligibility. Eligibility for admission: Candidates who have passed MBBS/BDS course from the state medical colleges of Agra, Allahabad, Gorakhpur, Jhansi, Kanpur, Meerut, Medical/dental faculty of CSM medical university, Lucknow and recognized private medical/dental colleges of U.P. are eligible to appear in the entrance examination (vide G.O.No. 09/71-03-02-104/2001 dated 22.01.2002)

Candidates who have passed MBBS from Himalayan Institute of Medical sciences, Dehradun, and are bonafide residents of UP and selected through CPMT-2000 conducted by undivided Uttar Pradesh are also eligible. (vide GO no. 1202/71-03-04-sa-64/2000 dated 11.08.2004 and GO no. 4917/71-03-04 sa-64/2000 dated 20.03.2007). Candidates who have passed MBBS from the Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, Dehradun, and are bonafide students of UP but selected after year 2000 in that institute are not eligible.

Candidates must have completed or completing their compulsory rotatory internship by 30th May, 2010

A candidate who has already taken admission on the basis of earlier UPPGMEE/AIPGEE is not eligible to appear in the examination until he/she completes and passes the course where he/she is presently admitted. However, such a candidate shall be eligible if (i) he/she has resigned from the said course, his/her resignation has been accepted by the Principal of medical/dental college or the vice chancellor in the case of candidates of CSM medical university and he/she has refunded the full amount of salary/stipend received by him/her during the said course, before the date of notification of this examination, i.e. 01.01.2010 (ii) he/she is presently pursuing PG diploma course in any subject, with the condition that he/she will be considered for the postgraduate degree course in that subject only

Examination process: Candidates will have to report to examination centre at 9.00 a.m. one hour in advance. Candidates are required to take their seats by 09.30 a.m. The examination process shall start at 09.45 a.m. No candidate will be allowed inside the hall after 9.45 a.m. Once seated the candidates will be provided with an OMR sheet and question paper. They will guided through the process of filling the identification information on the OMR sheet. After distribution of question papers, candidates must immediately ensure that they have received question paper of the correct course, viz., MD/MS/diploma or MDS as applicable. Subsequent representation will not be entertained.

Candidates will be photographed and fingerprinted in the examination hall. Candidates should be careful while filling the circles on the answer sheet. Use only black ball pen for filling the circles. Once filled, no change is possible. A dot or any other mark like X, O, 0, or any other mark read by the optical mark reader will be considered as a response marked by you. You will be given one copy of OMR answer sheet at the end of the examination.

Results: General category candidates shall have to secure a minimum of 50% marks and the reserved category candidates a minimum of 40% marks to qualify for admission to a postgraduate medical/dental course. Qualifying does not mean admission. Admission will be given according to merit at the time of counseling.

Merit list for only those candidates who have qualified will be declared. A marks sheet will be sent to all candidates. Candidates securing minimum qualifying marks (50% for general and 40% for reserved) shall be given ranks according to the total marks obtained. There shall be a combined merit list (with state rank) for all category candidates. The merit rank of reserved category candidates in their respective categories (category rank) shall also be indicated along with their combined merit (state rank). There is no provision of re-evaluation. However, there is provision of scrutiny for which candidate may apply within seven days of declaration of result along with a demand draft of Rs. 300/- in favour of UPPGMEE-2010 payable at Lucknow

Declaration of results: The result of successful candidates with their combined rank along with category rank will be declared on the website of the university www.kgmcindia.edu, and www.indiaresults.com and www.exametc.com. A copy of the result will also be sent to the Secretary, medical education, government of U.P., Director general, medical education and training, U.P. Lucknow, the Principals/Dean of U.P. state medical colleges, and registrar, CSMMU, Lucknow
