St. John's Medical College is one of the two medical colleges in India that have succeeded in implementing this rural service among its graduates. And, St. John's is the only College in the world, perhaps, that can boast that at least 25% of its graduates are permanently serving in such areas even after their post graduation. The admissions to St. John's is purely on the basis of merit in the written entrance test and the interviews lasting almost a week, where aptitude and commitment of the candidates is evaluated.
