Admission to the medicine post graduate courses

All India common entrance test (PIMS-AICET-PG-II-2011)

About the Institute: Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences was given a status of Deemed University from 29th September, 2003 by HRD Ministry, govt of India on the advise of UGC u/s (3) of UGC Act 1956 vide their notification No F-9-11/2000-U.3

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for All India common entrance test (PIMS-AICET-PG-II 2011) for selection of candidates for admission to postgraduate courses in Medicine (MD/MS) for the academic year 2011-12 in the Rural Medical colleges of Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences (Deemed University) for increased seats

Increased Intake capacity in following subject will be notified on university website on receipt of letter of intent from govt of India

General Medicine, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Obst and Gynecology, Anatomy, Radio Diagnosis, Anesthesiology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine and Toxicology

Duration of course: Three years course

Calendar of events

Last date for applying: 22nd March, 2011

Date and time of entrance test examination: 27th March, 2011, Sunday, 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.

Date of counseling: 18th April, 2011

Distribution of Hall ticket: Hall ticket of candidate will be emailed to candidate, original hall ticket will be issued at examination center one hour before the examination

Announcement of results: 07th April, 2011 (result will be available on www.pravara.com at 10.00 a.m. on same date)

Commencement of classes: 2nd May, 2011

The Rural Medical Colleges is recognized by UGC/MCI (Medical Council of India) for both under graduate and post graduate courses

Center of examination: The AICET examination will be conducted in following cities

Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Loni

University reserves the right to change or cancel any test center. In such a case concerned candidates will be informed accordingly

The address of examination center assigned to candidate will be given in hall ticket. No request for change of center mentioned in application form shall be entertained

The Demand Draft for Rs 2000/- should be drawn on any nationalized bank and payable at Pune service branch in favour of Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences, Loni

Eligibility criteria for appearing the entrance test: Candidate seeking admission to postgraduate Medicine course should hold MBBS degree of recognized University by MCI

A candidate who has completed one year compulsory rotating internship or is likely to complete the same on or before 30th April, 2011 can appear for PIMS-AICET-PG-II 2011

All such candidates will have to submit the documentary proof, from the Principal/Dean of the college regarding the likely date of completion of internship along with the manual application form, failing which the application shall be rejected

A candidate should have obtained permanent registration with MCI or any state council. If candidate does not have such registration, he should obtain the same within one month from the date of his/her admission

Candidates who are previously registered and pursuing/completed the PG degree course or have obtained PG degree, are not eligible for appearing at PIMS-AICET-PG-II 2011

Candidates previously admitted to PG degree course and resigned/left the seat are not eligible for appearing at PIMS-AICET-PG-II 2011

Candidates who have completed Medicine postgraduate diploma course or would be completing by 31st March, 2011 will be eligible for PIMS-AICET-PG-II 2011 for admission to Medicine postgraduate degree in the same subject only
