Nitte University will be conducting All India Undergraduate Entrance Test, NUUGET-2012 on 07th May, 2012, Monday for candidates seeking admission to MBBS and BDS in its constituent colleges, namely, KS Hegde Medical Academy; A. B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, for the academic year 2012-13
Eligible candidates desiring to appear for the entrance test may download the application form from website www.nitte.edu.in on any day on or after 01st March, 2012
Eligibility: Candidates who fulfill the following criteria shall be eligible to appear for the Entrance Test
A candidate who has passed the second year Pre-University or 12th standard or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together
However in case of SC/ST candidates it is 40%
Candidates whose 10+2 results are not yet announced may also apply
However they shall submit the attested copies of the marks card before 20th June, 2012 so that they can be considered for counselling if they have scored more than the minimum specified in the qualifying examinations
Must be 17 or more years of age as on 31st December, 2012
Applications are liable for rejection if incomplete; received after the last date 25th April, 2012; not signed by the candidate; photographs are not of recent dates; not accompanied with attested copies of marks cards; registration fee is not paid
Registration Fee: The candidates are required to pay the registration fee of Rs 1000/- through demand draft in favour of NITTE University, payable at Mangalore

Submission: The filled-in application with all relevant documents should be sent to the Registrar, Nitte University, Deralakatte, Mangalore-575018 by post so as to reach before the last date 25th April, 2012 or may be handed over in person at the university office on any working day before the last date

Test Admission Ticket (Hall Ticket) for the entrance test will be sent by post to the postal address entered by the candidate
Entrance Test: 07th May, 2012, Monday, 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.Test Centres: Bangalore, Delhi, Ernakulam, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mangalore, MumbaiSyllabus: The syllabus content will ordinarily be that prescribed for Class 12th of CBSE schools
Mode of conducting the test: Entrance Test will be conducted in English
There will be a question paper of 3 hours duration (one booklet) consisting of 180 multiple choice questions. Subject wise distribution of questions would be Physics-60, Chemistry-60 and Biology-60 (there will be at least 4 versions of the question paper booklet and therefore serial number of question differs from version to version.
Questions will be of multiple choice type, each having one correct answer out of four alternatives
Answer sheet is of optical mark reader (OMR) type and is to be marked as per instruction on it, using a black or blue ball point pen. Each question carries one markCorrect answer will be awarded one mark
There is no negative marking for wrong answers
The final rank list is generated based on the scores in the entrance test for those who score 50% or more
Ties in the test score, if any, will be resolved on the basis of Inter Se Merit as defined below

The candidates shall appear for the Entrance Test at their own cost, in any one of the centres as per the choice indicated by them in TAT and application form
Change of Centre prior permission should be sought through E-mail in the prescribed format addressed to reg@nitte.edu.in, or coe@nitte.edu.in, at least 5 days before the test
Each candidate will be given a TAT number and the Test admission ticket will bear this number
Only those candidates who possess the test admission ticket shall be allowed to write the entrance test
However, a duplicate may be issued against a payment of Rs 100/-
