Notification

Applications are invited for entrance examination to the post graduate – M.D (Siddha) – degree course for 2010-11 at National institute of Siddha at Tambaram Sanatorium for the following branches

Branch I – Maruthuvam; Branch II – Gunapadam; Branch III – Sirappu Maruthuvam; Branch IV – Kuzhandai Maruthuvam; Branch V – Noi Naadal; Branch VI – Nanju Noolum Maruthuva Neethi Noolum

Qualification for admission: A pass in BIM/BSMS degree examination of any Indian university with successful completion of compulsory rotatory resident internship (CRRI). Candidates who have completed or will be completing CRRI before the date of entrance examination alone are eligible to apply for the postgraduate MD (Siddha) degree course

A pass in the examination considered equivalent to the afore-mentioned Siddha degrees by the Tamilnadu Dr MGR medical university, Chennai and the central council of Indian medicine, New Delhi, with successful completion of compulsory rotatory resident internship (CRRI) in the hospital of Indian system of medicine recognized by the central council of Indian medicine, New Delhi

The candidates should have registered their names in either any state council of Indian medicine or central council of Indian medicine

Stipend: Stipend will be paid as per govt of India norms. The other conditions are mentioned in the prospectus 2010-11

Entrance examination: All eligible candidates should write the entrance examination at national institute of Siddha, Chennai for admission to post graduate MD(S) degree course for 2010-11. The entrance examination is to be conducted on 16.05.2010 from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. in Chennai at the venue mentioned in the hall ticket

 

Duration of the course: 3 years

Mode of selection: Selection to this course will be made on merit, based on the marks obtained by the candidates in the entrance examination conducted by the national institute of Siddha, Chennai-47, duly adopting the rule of reservation for OBC/SC/ST candidates, as mentioned in the prospectus

One seat in Nanju Noolum Maruthuva Neethi Noolum branch is reserved for persons with locomotory disability of lower limbs between 50% and 60%. One seat in Kuzhandhai Maruthuvam branch is reserved for a foreign (BIMSTEC countries) student sponsored by the govt of India. Application form along with the prospectus can be had from the director, national institute of Siddha, Tambaram Sanatorium, Chennai-47 by giving a requisition letter along with a crossed demand draft, from any of the nationalized bank, for Rs 1000/- (rupees one thousand only) in favour of Director, national institute of Siddha, payable at Chennai, drawn on or after 07.03.2010. For SC/ST candidates the cost of application is Rs 750/- (Rs seven hundred and fifty only) subject to production of a duly attested Xerox copy of SC/ST certificate, issued by the competent authority

Application form along with the prospectus can also be obtained by post, by sending a requisition with a self addressed envelope of size not less than 32 cm x 25 cm, duly affixing postage stamps to the value of Rs 60/- (Rs sixty only) along with the demand draft for Rs 1000/- (Rs 750/- in case of SC/ST candidates)

Date of issue of application forms commences from: 08.03.2010

Last date for issue of application forms: 07.04.2010 up to 3.00 p.m.

Last date for receipt of filled in applications: 07.04.2010 up to 5.00 p.m.

Date of entrance examination: 16.05.2010 from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.

The filled in application along with enclosures should reach the director, national institute of Siddha, Tambarama Sanatorium, Chennai-600047, Tamilnadu on or before 07.04.2010, 5.00 p.m. Application received after the due date and time will be summarily rejected.

The eligible candidates who receive call letters will be required to attend counseling on 27.05.2010 for admission to PG course at national institute of Siddha, Chennai-47

The national institute of Siddha is not responsible for any postal delay. Belated applications will be summarily rejected. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
