Kathmandu, Manipal College of medical sciences (MCOMS), based in Pokhara, Nepal, is recognized as one of the premier medical institutes in the region

Established in 1994, MCOMS is a collaboration between the Manipal group and the govt of Nepal. The institute is affiliated to Kathmandu university situated in the picturesque location of Pokhara, it has students from India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bangladesh, Canada, Kenya, Middle East, Singapore, United States, United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia

The college functions from its 38 acre campus and houses 2 main campuses - the Deep campus and the Phulbari campus

 

The 8 acre Deep campus houses all the basic science departments and hostels along with other main facilities. Spread over 30 acres, the Phulbari campus has the 865 bed Manipal teaching hospital, the clinical teaching departments and hostels for clinical students

MCOMS a degree that is accepted across various boards

The degree is listed in the WHO directory of medical schools and the international medical education director, thus enabling graduates to appear for international licensing examination including USMLE, PLAB, Australian medical board exam, ERPM, MCI among others. In Canada, MCOMS is recognized by the British Columbia and Ontario students assistance programs (BCSAP and OSAP). The institute is also accredited by the California medical board and the New York state medical board

Admission now open to the MBBS course for the August 2010 batch

The MBBS course is spread across 9 semesters of 6 months each. The total duration of the course is four and a half years. Upon completion of the course, students undergo a one year residential rotation internship

Scholarships: Scholarships are also provided to deserving students based on merit

Eligibility: Indian students seeking admission to the medical college should have cleared their 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English, in addition to being at least 17 years of age while applying
