Entrance Examination for Admission to Post Graduate Courses in Dental Surgery  (Master of Dental Surgery), Kerala-2012

Director of Medical Education, State of Kerala admit students for Post Graduate courses in Dentistry (Master of Dental Surgery) in different specialities in Govt Dental Colleges at Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam and Kozhikode and self financing colleges which have agreed for seat sharing with Govt

Seats: A total of 50 seats are available in Govt Dental colleges in the state for the year 2012

Eligibility for admission

Nativity: Applicant should be an Indian citizen of Kerala origin or should have passed BDS degree from any of the Dental Colleges in Kerala

Academic qualifications: Applicant should have passed BDS degree from any of the Universities in Kerala or equivalent

Those who will come one year compulsory rotating resident internship on or before 15th April, 2012 are eligible, but should have registration with Kerala Dental council, before admission to the course

Age: Maximum age as on 30th April, 2012 for general quota candidates is 45 years and for service quota candidates is 47 years

Entrance examination: All candidates seeking admission to MDS courses will have to qualify by securing a minimum of 50% marks (40% marks for SC/ST/SEBC candidates) in the entrance examination to be conducted by the commissioner for entrance examination (CEE) on 19th February, 2012, Sunday at Thiruvananthapuram

Application form: Prospectus and on-line application form are available from 10th January, 2012 in the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in

Application fees: The application fee is Rs 1000/- for general quota only and Rs 1000/- for service quota only

Candidate applying for both general and service quota will have to remit Rs 2000/-

The application fee for SC/ST candidates is Rs 500/- and if applying for service quota too, Rs 1500/-

The application fee can be remitted in any branch of State Bank of Travancore using the bank challan available with the printout of the application submitted online

Candidates outside Kerala can remit the required fee by way of demand draft drawn from any nationalized bank in favour of the commissioner for entrance examination, Thiruvananthapuram, payable at Thiruvananthapuram

Submission of application: Printout of the on-line application with all the required documents should reach Commissioner for entrance examination, Housing board building, Santhinagar, Thiruvananthapuram-695001, either by registered post or by hand delivery on or before on 21st January, 2012, Saturday, 5.00 p.m.

Late applications including those brought after 5.00 p.m. on 21st January, 2012 will not be accepted

The commissioner for entrance examinations will not be responsible for any postal delay

Incomplete, defective and wrongly addressed applications will be summarily rejected and no correspondence will be undertaken in this regard

Service candidates should in addition send a copy of their application, along with all the required documents, including service details to their controlling officer (DME/DHS/DIMS) also before 5.00 p.m. on 21st January, 2012

Selection and allotment of seats: Done by the Director of Medical Education as per various provisions in the prospectus
