Eligibility Criteria

  1. Candidates should be Indian Nationals & Overseas Citizens of India are also eligible.(OCI registered under section 7A of Citizenship Act 1955, should submit proof of Registrations OCI under section 7A of Citizenship Act 1955 at the time of admission failing which admission with stand cancelled)

 

Educational Qualification

  1. Candidates should have passed M.D. / DNB Degree from any University recognized as equivalent there to by the Medical Council of India
  2. Must be registered with Central /State Medical Registration Council

  1. Critical Care: MD/DNB in Anesthesiology/ General Medicine / Pulmonary Medicine Degree recognized by the Medical council of India
  2. Cardiac Anaesthesia Neuro Anaesthesia: MD/DNB (Anesthesiology) Degree recognized by the Medical Council of India
  3. Cardiology: MD/DNB Degree in General Medicine / Pediatrics/ Pulmonary Medicine recognized by the Medical Council of India
  4. Clinical Pharmacology: M.D. / DNB Degree in General Medicine / Pharmacology/ Pediatrics recognized by the Medical Council of India
  5. Clinical Immunology Endocrinology Nephrology Neurology: M.D. / DNB Degree in General Medicine / Pediatrics of this Institute or any other Institute/University by the Medical Council of India
  6. Medical Oncology: M.D. / DNB Degree in Medicine / Pediatrics /Radiotherapy recognized by the Medical Council of India

  1. Urology Cardio Thoracic & Vascular Surgery Neuro-Surgery Surgical Gastroenterology Plastic Surgery Pediatric Surgery: M.S. / DNB Degree in General Surgery recognized by the Medical Council of India
  2. Surgical Oncology: M.S./ DNB Degree in General Surgery / Obstetrics & Gynecology / Otolaryngology (E.N.T) / Orthopedic Surgery recognized by the Medical Council of India.

 

Selection of Sponsored Candidates

  1. Sponsored/Deputed candidates are also required to appear in the common entrance exam. If selected for admission to the mentioned course of the Institute, these candidates are required to make their own arrangements for stay during the period of their studies.

Entrance Exam Pattern

  1. Entrance Exam will be conducted through a Computer Based Test (CBT) [Online] only. The examination shall be held on Sunday, 08th December 2019
  2. The duration of the exam shall be 1½ hours (One hour and Thirty minutes). The Online (CBT) Entrance Exam will be conducted as detailed below:
  3. DM/M.Ch. Course – From 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM
  4. No candidate will be permitted to appear in the examination unless he/she holds a valid "Admit Card" issued by the Institute and a ID proof of their identification
  5. The examination shall be conducted in ENGLISH medium ONLY
  6. The Entrance Exam is consists of 100 single best response type MCQs having four alternatives and the questions will be asked from the concerned specialty and related fields.

Exam Centre

  1. The following 10 cities are tentatively proposed in India as the exam centres – Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bangalore, New Delhi, Bhubaneswar, Puducherry, Chennai, Trivandrum, Kolkata, Vijayawada
  2. Applicant can opt only for THREE EXAM CITIES
  3. The allotment of Exam City would be as per the order of preference clicked by applicant during on-line registration on a FIRST-CUM-FIRST served basis

 

Hall Tickets

  1. Hall Tickets for the Entrance Examination shall be available for download to candidates whose applications are complete in all respects, from 13th November 2019 11.00 AM onwards (Tentative)

 

Application Procedure

  1. Candidates seeking admission to entrance examination are required to apply on-line mode only. (Any other mode of application will not be accepted)
  2. Log on to link in the Home Page www.jipmer.edu.in and navigate to the link "Apply on-line D.M./M.Ch. admission-January 2020”
  3. Read the prospectus and instruction carefully
  4. The flow chart for filling application on-line given as Appendix (Annexure-I) in the Prospectus
  5. Candidate should acquaint himself/herself with all requirements with regard to filling up the application online
  6. A candidate can apply any one of the following courses, among which he/she can choose only one discipline subject to fulfilling the essential eligibility criteria
  7. If a candidate is applying for DM & Fellowship Course (OR) M.Ch Course, He/she should appear in the separate entrance exam on 08th December 2019 as scheduled below:
  8. D.M/M.Ch Course 10.00 PM to 11.30 AM

  1. Application fees for each category as mentioned below to be paid by the candidate using ANY ONE of the following modes of payment. No other mode of payment will be accepted

  • General (UR)/OCI Rs.1600/- + Transaction Charges as applicable
  • OBC Rs.1600/- + Transaction Charges as applicable

  • Incomplete application, application with false details will be rejected
