JIPMER 2007 MD / MS / Diploma Courses – Admission – 2007 – Session

Applications are invited for admission to Postgraduate Degree (MD/MS) and Diploma Courses at JIPMER, Puducherry based on Entrance Examination to be held on 18.02.2007 (Sunday) at Puducherry.

The Pre-printed Application & Prospectus for MD / MS / Diploma PG Entrance Examination of April 2007 will be available at Bank of Baroda Extension counter, JIPMER from 13-12-2006.

JIPMER 2007 MD/MS/DIploma Application can be submitted through “On line” from 06-12-2006.

JIPMER PG COURSES ADMISSION PROCEDURE - JIPMER conducts Entrance Examination on All India Basis. Merit in the Entrance Examination will be taken into account in filling up the seats in an Open Counseling method.

Seventy-one PG degree and Diploma seats are available in the following disciplines :

M.D. in General Medicine(8), Obstetrics & Gynaecology(8), Pathology(2), Microbiology(2), Physiology(2), Pharmacology(2), Paediatrics(5), Radiodiagnosis(2), Anaesthesiology(6), Dermatology(Venerology and Leprosy)(3), Biochemistry(2), Community Medicine(2), Psychiatry(1), TB and Respiratory Diseases(1)

M.S. in General Surgery(8), Orthopaedics(2), Ophthalmology(3), E.N.T.(2), Anatomy(2)

Post Graduate Diploma in Child Health(1), Orthopaedics(2), Ophthalmology(2), Radio- Diagnosis(1) and Leprosy(2).

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA for JIPMER - PG Courses 2007:

1.   Should have passed MBBS Degree or equivalent and recognized by Medical Council of India and Pondicherry University.

2.   Must have completed Internship on or before 31.03.2007.

3.   Should be a Resident Indian National.

4.   Institute Category Seats are available for students of this JIPMER Institute only.

5.   SC/ST category seats are open to all Indian Nationals belonging to that category.

6.   Reservation for Other Backward Class (OBC) candidates, if any, would be communicated through Newspaper advertisement / JIPMER website as and when the Government Order for the same is issued.

JIPMER 2007 PG Entrance Exam Dates

The Pre-printed Prospectus and Application form can be obtained from the Registrar (Academic), JIPMER, Puducherry-605006 by sending a Demand Draft for Rs.650/- for JIPMER Institute(General) candidates and Rs.500/- for SC/ST candidates. The Demand Draft should be in favour of the Accounts Officer, JIPMER and drawn on any Nationalised Bank payable at Puducherry. The request for Prospectus and Application along with a crossed Demand draft and a 2” x 3” size slip of candidate’s postal address (to send the application to the candidate) should reach the Registrar (Academic), JIPMER, Puducherry-605006 on or before 21^st December 2006 (Thursday).

The Prospectus and Application forms can also be obtained in person from the Bank of Baroda, Basement of Administrative Block, JIPMER, Puducherry-605006 on any working day from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and 2.00 p.m. to 3.00 p.m. (Saturday’s upto 12.00 p.m.) till 11^th January 2007 on cash payment.

The last date for the receipt of filled in application form at JIPMER Institute is 11^th January 2007 (Thursday) till 4.30 p.m. This Institute is not responsible for any postal delay. For further details, please refer the P.G. Prospectus (Session 2007) of this Institute.

JIPMER 2007 PG Entrance Exam Pattern

The JIPMER PG Entrance Examination consists of 250 multiple choice questions (one best response type) of which 100 questions will be from Para-Clinical and the remaining 150 questions from Clinical Subjects. The evaluation is fully computerized and there is no negative marking.
