Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)

Duration : 4 1/2 years plus 1 year compulsory rotating internship.

ELIGIBILITY

Citizenship : Indian Nationals.

Date of birth : Only those whose date of birth falls on or before 31.12.90 are eligible to apply

Qualifications : Pass in 10+2, A Level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology

ADMISSIONS

General Category : Admissions are done on the basis of rank in the all India Manipal University ONLINE Under Graduate Entrance Test (UGET 07). Only candidates who have secured minimum 50% marks in UGET 07 will be considered for admissions.

Foreign / NRI Category : Admissions under this category are handled by a separate office.

Candidates can apply either under General or Foreign/NRI category. Those submitting under both the categories will not be considered for admission. Change of category at a later stage will not be entertained under any circumstances. The application material given along with this prospectus can only be used to apply for these courses under the General Category.

In addition to the above, a few MBBS seats are reserved for candidates selected and sponsored by Common Entrance Test (CET) cell, Government of Karnataka, Bangalore.

UGET 07 GROUP I: Applicable to MBBS course.

TEST PATTERN - The test duration is of 2.30 hours and consists of 240 multiple choice questions (MCQ) of the objective type. The question paper will be in English. The approximate distribution of questions is as follows: Physics - 60 questions, Chemistry - 60 questions, Biology - 80 questions, English & General Aptitude - 40 questions.

UGET 07 SYLLABI

SCHEDULE

The Manipal UGET 2007 online test will be held between 03.04.07 and 10.05.07. The candidates can select the test schedule of their choice.

MERIT LIST
Based on the marks obtained in UGET 07, Manipal University will declare the merit list of all candidates who have appeared for the entrance test for MBBS course. The merit lists will be displayed on 22.05.07 on the notice board of Manipal University and the website. In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks, the inter-se merit of such candidates will be determined on the basis of higher marks in the order of preference as under:

• Biology in UGET 07
• Physics in UGET 07
• Chemistry in UGET 07
• PCB marks in 10+2
