MCA (three years full time) 2010-13

Course profile: The 3 year full time MCA, programme is designed to enable students to groom themselves for shouldering responsibilities in the filed of Information Technology and Software Development by inculcating necessary computer skills and soft skills in a well structured manner.

Requirements of examination and attendance: A candidate will be permitted to appear for the university examinations only if (i) he secures not less than 75% of attendance in the number of working days during each semester (ii) he earns a progress certificate from the head of the Institutions for having satisfactorily completed the course of study prescribed as required by the regulations for each semester and (iii) his conduct has been satisfactory

Examinations: University examinations will be conducted at the end of each semester i.e. in the month of November and April. The viva-voce for the project work done in sixth semester will be held in May/June that year. A candidate shall register for the university examinations (written and/or project work and viva voce) pertaining to the semester under progress and also for the arrears of earlier semester subjects if any, compulsorily, as per university of Madras rules

Eligibility criteria: Candidate who have passed the under-mentioned degree examinations of this university or an examinations of other institution organized by this university as equivalent thereto provided they have undergone the course under 10+2+3 or 11+1+3 or 11+2+2 pattern or under the open university system, shall the eligible for admission to the MCA degree course BCA/ BES/BSc in computer science/Mathematics/ Physics/Statistics/Applied Science or  B.Com/ Bachelor of Bank Management/BBA/ BLM/BA corporate secretary ship/BA Economics/any other Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with Business Mathematics and Statistics or Mathematics/ Statistics in main/ allied level or B.Sc Chemistry with Mathematics and Physics as allied subjects or BE/B. Tech/MBA or a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with Mathematics as one of the subjects at the higher secondary level (i.e. in +2 level of the 10+2 pattern)

Selection and admission: The admission to the course will be on the basis of assessment and suitability of the applicant in terms of aptitude and IQ, communication skills and general knowledge. This will be done by any one of the entrance examinations detailed below and through a group discussion and personal interview thereafter

Entrance examination conducted by: (a) TANCET - conducted by Anna University at state level (b) Common Entrance test by an association of self-financing colleges

A list of selected candidates will be put up on the notice board of the Institute. Candidates will be required to pay the prescribed fees and submit the following testimonials at the time of admission.

Transfer certificate and conduct certificate from the Head of the Institution last studied; degree/provisional certificate in original along with one Xerox copy; mark sheets in original along with one set of Xerox copies; letter of sponsorship, wherever applicable; two copies of passport size photograph; one copy of stamp size color photograph; eligibility certificate in case of candidates who belong to other universities

Applications: Candidates shall apply in the prescribed form which can be obtained from our office on payment of Rs 500/- (registration fee Rs 100/- regular application Rs 400/-) by cash or by a demand draft drawn in favor of MEASI Institute of Information Technology, payable at Chennai.
