MBA Admissions 2012-14

Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSOM) uses CAT for short-listing candidates for its MBA programme

IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme

Eligibility Criteria: A candidate who has either secured or is likely to secure a first class bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or a first class Master’s degree in Science (with Mathematics or Statistics at Bachelor’s level) or a first class Master’s degree in Economics or Commerce (with Mathematics or Statistics at Bachelor’s level) is eligible for admission

Selection: Selection will be based on application rating, performance in CAT for domestic students and GMAT for international students, and candidate’s performance in group discussion and personal interview

Post-qualification work experience in industrial organizations will be given due consideration

The School follows Govt of India norms regarding eligibility and reservation of seats for qualified SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates

Domestic candidates seeking admission to the MBA Programme of VGSOM must complete the following procedures

Take the CAT 2011 exam

The application fee is Rs 800/- for candidates pertaining to SC/ST/PH category, and Rs 1600 for other candidates who do not fall under any of the above stated three categories

The starting date for receiving applications is 27th December, 2011

The candidate may complete the online application form on or after 27th December, 2011 by clicking on the following link http://erp.iitkgp.ernet.in/MBAApplications/

The candidate may then obtain a demand draft for the application fee amount made in favour of IIT Kharagpur payable at Kharagpur

Then, the candidate has to send the print-out of the completed online application form along with photocopies of proof of qualification and experience, and the requisite demand draft to The Assistant Registrar (PGS&R), Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, Kharagpur-721302

Do not send this application to the GATE office

The last date for the school to receive your duly filled application form is 27th January, 2012

Group discussion (GD)/personal interviews (PI) will be conducted by IIT Kharagpur at Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore

The following are the dates for group discussion/personal interview procedures

Mumbai: 9th-12th March, 2012

Kolkata: 20th-22nd March, 2012

Delhi: 27th-30th March, 2012

Bangalore: 3rd-6th April, 2012

Candidates selected for group discussion/personal interview will be intimated through registered post/ courier by late February, 2012

Re-scheduling of group discussion/personal interview slots for candidates will not be possible

The date and venue filled up by a candidate during online application would be considered as final and those cannot be changed later

No further requests in this regard will be entertained
