With a mission to provide excellence in professional management education, Institute of Management Studies and Research was established in 1994. Approved by AICTE, it offers a two-year full-time postgraduate course leading to the MMS (Master of Management Studies) degree of the University of Mumbai. Intake of this course is 60 students
It has plans to start from academic year 2010-2011 additional value added courses
Eligibility criteria for admission: Eligibility criteria for the admission through DTE CAP, minority quota admissions shall be as prescribed by DTE vide their admission Information brochure 2010-11
Domicile certificate: Domicile certificate is necessary for students taking admission under minority quota
Institute is Linguistic Sindhi Minority Institute, 51% seats of sanctioned intake are reserved for Sindhi minority students and 49% seats of sanctioned intake shall be admitted by DTE through CAP

Institute level admission: Sindhi Minority Quota 31; management quota - Nil (as a policy of the management there are no management quota seats reserved. All admissions are based purely on merits basis)
Admissions procedure shall be as per the stages mention below; advertisement in the leading news papers by DTE Maharashtra State Govt
Written Test and group discussion, personal interview by DTE
Result and submission of online application forms by applicant students as per DTE guide lines for centralized admission process (CAP)
Admission rounds by DTE- DTE shall conduct following admissions through their CAP
For the rounds of admission under centralized allotment process (CAP) by DTE-students/parents are requested to refer the DTE admission information brochure and their website for necessary information and procedure of admission and also advised to follow the same very carefully
Admissions of centralized (CAP) allotted students in this institute by paying prescribed fees and submission of necessary documents in prescribed time shall be as directed by DTE
Up to the last permissible date prescribed by DTE, we offer admissions to the students allotted by DTE through CAP. After that date we have to stop the admission of CAP rounds
Calculation of the vacant seats remaining vacant after offering admissions to CAP students (not reported students) and the seats remaining vacant due to the cancellations of admission of/by the admitted students
Institute level admission round: These admissions shall be conducted by the Institute in the institute premises
Guidelines for the admission process to be carried out by the institute for this round shall be as per the rules. This round consists following two types of admissions, admission round for vacant and cancellation seats, admission round for minority quota seats
Admissions of vacant and cancellations seats and admissions of minority quota seats shall be conducted separately. Separate merit lists shall be displayed for the above type of admissions
Display of each merit list on the notice board and on the website of the Institute along with the detail information and instructions about reporting time, verification of document payment of fees, mode of payment etc shall be published on the notice board
Reporting of students for the Institute level admissions; for this admissions round detail admission schedule shall be displayed on the notice board and on the website of the institute where in students and parents shall be informed to remain present at your institute auditorium on a specified date and time along with the demand draft/pay order of the required fee amount and all required original and Xerox attested documents. In auditorium students name shall be recalled merit wise/score wise and on the available seats students in merit shall be admitted under vacant seats and cancellation seats and Sindhi minority quota seats
Finally with the submission of admitted students’ information/lists to DTE by the institute as per the deadlines and directions from DTE, here admission process is complete
Cancellation of admission and refund of fees to students: Rules for cancellation of admission and refund of fees shall be strictly as per the rules laid down by DTE govt of Maharashtra state in this regard in their admission brochure. Students and parents are advice to read and note carefully these rules and cut of dates in admission information brochure 2010-11
Students are advised to see very carefully the notices and admission schedule displayed on time to time on the notice board and on the website of this Institute
Students seeking admission under minority quota are advised to refer eligibility criteria of DTE admission brochure, 2010
The copies of the following documents should be enclosed along with the application at the time of submission of application; one photograph of the applicant; Xerox attested of the CET/CET equivalent score card; documentary proof of belonging to Sindhi Minority (of Maharashtra state only), supported by an affidavit from the competent authority; domicile certificate of Maharashtra state (if applicable)
The original copies and two sets of attested Xerox copies of the following documents are required at the time of admission; CET/CET equivalent score card; mark sheet of SSC examination; mark sheet of HSC examination; mark sheet of bachelor degree or its equivalent qualifying examination; passing certificate of the bachelor degree; Institute leaving/transference certificate; proof of nationality (birth certificate/domicile certificate/school leaving/passport);
Candidates except those from Mumbai university must obtain eligibility certificate, from University of Mumbai, Kalina, and Santacruz (East), Mumbai through college
Migration Certificate from their Home University, Migrants certificate (applicable for J&K quota)
As per the Shikshan Shulka Samiti fee is INR 108460/- considering 10% rise from last year fees, shall be charged as interim provision fees
Over and above this fee University share of tuition fee, PG registration fee, examination fee etc will be charged separately as applicable
College also provides separate hostel facility both for boys and girls at the fee of INR 30000/- per year per student. These charges are for only accommodation and food charges in addition to this shall be separate
Mode of Payment: Fee structure is same for all the students admitted in above categories. Fee shall be accepted only by demand draft or Bank pay order in favour of Vivekananda Education Society’s Institute of Management Studies and Research
Final fee: A proposal has been submitted to Shikshan Shulka Samiti for the fixation/grant of the final fees for the academic year 2010-11. If the final fee approved is less than the interim fee paid, i.e. Rs 108460/- then the difference will be refunded by the institute to the students within four weeks. Similarly, if the final fee approved is more than the interim fee paid, the difference will be paid by the student to the institute within four weeks from the date of declaration of the final fee by Shikshan Shulka Samiti
College will also assist students for obtaining education loan
Examination schedule: First semester exam is conducted in the month of December and third semester exam in the month of November at the Institute level
Second semester exam and fourth semester Institute level exams are conducted in the month of April
University Examinations for third and fourth semesters are conducted in the month of December and May respectively as per University schedule
Assessment: During the first year, i.e., for 1st and 2nd semester, candidates who have not been able to clear any subjects at first attempts are permitted to a maximum of two additional attempts
For the second year i.e., semester 3rd and 4th for all the subjects for which the institute level examination is conducted by the institute, no additional attempts are permitted
Summer training: Students have to do two months training program at the end of the first year giving an exposure to the students to the corporate world through internship
Issue of forms: 2nd August, 2010 to 12th August, 2010
Last date of acceptance of forms: 12th August, 2010 (till 5.00 p.m.)
Group Discussion/Personal Interview: 23rd, 24th, 25th August, 2010
First merit list: 26th August, 2010
Second merit list: 31st August, 2010
Lectures starts: 6th September, 2010
