MBA for the Academic Year 2008-09

The MBA in Petroleum & Energy Management program offered by RGIPT's 'Department of Management Studies' is designed as a career-oriented program aimed at the Petroleum & Energy sector. The program is designed to facilitate students in understanding, developing, integrating and applying knowledge of both core and specialised areas of management and their concepts and practices in the domain of the Petroleum & Energy Sector.

The focus will be to impart extensive training in the various areas of specialisation through electives, thereby providing a wide array of career opportunities in the sector.

FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES: NOIDA

The primary objective of the Faculty of Management Studies is to spawn a cadre of human resource who will acquire the necessary skills and competencies to manage the key positions in various segments of the petroleum sector covering the entire energy spectrum. Apart from offering educational programs of the highest quality at the MBA, Executive MBA and PG Diploma levels, specialized short term continuing education programs will be available for working professionals on the emerging business concepts.

The areas of focus of the department shall be:

  • Management Systems Design including MIS
  • Operations Management
  • Industrial Marketing
  • Finance Management
  • Human Resource Management in Oil & Gas Sector
  • International Trade in Oil & Gas
  • Petroleum Law & Policies
  • Petroleum & Energy Economics
  • Retailing

Eligibility CRITERIA

MBA in Petroleum & Energy Management

Eligibility:

The candidates having the following degrees and fulfilling other conditions listed below are eligible to apply for the MBA Program

  • Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Pharmacy/B.Sc. Agriculture Engineering (Minimum of 4 Years duration after 10+2. Mathematics must be one of the subjects in 10 + 2. The Bachelor's degree must have AICTE recognition.)
  • Masters degree in any branch of Physical/Chemical/Mathematical Sciences like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Electronic Science, Environmental Science, Applied Geological Sciences, Operational Research, Computational/Information Science, Agriculture or Master’s Degree in Commerce/Economics/Psychology.

Qualified in JMET 2008 or CAT (NOV 2007) or GMAT (After June 2007).

Individuals appearing in the final year examination of the above degrees may also apply. However, such candidates must have the results of the qualifying examination as above before the last date of registration i.e. 31 July 2008 and submit it to RGIPT.

A Minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters) or 6.75 CGPA on a 10-point scale or equivalent in the above mentioned degree programs is essential for admission. Those applying with MSc degrees must fulfil this condition in their Bachelor's degree as well. A relaxation of 5% in marks or 0.50 in CGPA will be given to SC/ST/OBC (excluding the creamy layer) and PH candidates as per the Institute norms. Candidates who have qualified the JMET 2008, CAT held In November 2007 or GMAT taken after June 2007 and fulfil the above educational qualifications are invited to apply to the RGIPT MBA program. They will be short listed and thereafter invited for a group discussion and interview.

Fee Structure

The tuition fee of Rs. 12,500 per trimester has been fixed for the students of the MBA program. In addition, the students have to pay other fees like insurance, alumni fees, Gymkhana fees, etc. which is likely to be Rs. 6,000 per trimester. SC/ST students are exempted from paying tuition fees but are required to pay the other fees. Foreign and Non-resident Indians are required to pay tuition fees and other fees amounting to US$ 4,000 per trimester.
