FPM at IIMB: The Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) is the doctoral programme of Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB). The FPM at IIMB is globally recognized, and is a premier source of rigorous, and inter-disciplinary research in all areas of business management and public policy including, corporate strategy and policy, economics and social sciences, finance and control, marketing management, organization behaviour and human resources management, production and operations management, quantitative methods and information systems, public systems, and public policy. The programme is committed to training individuals who will excel in their area of research through publication quality work of international standard

The Mission of the FPM at IIMB is to: Provide rigorous, world-class, inter-disciplinary training in all areas of business management and public policy that will equip students with the ability to conduct cutting edge, publication quality research of international standard

Contribute to the creation and transmission of knowledge in all areas of business management and public policy with emphasis on issues faced by firms and organizations in India

Contribute to the efforts of IIMB faculty in the creation, transmission, communication, and application of knowledge in all areas of business management and public policy

Help meet the teaching and research manpower needs of academia and industry by producing highly skilled individuals with exceptional analytical ability and training in conducting specialized research

FPM students in good standing will get financial support for up to five years. In terms of financial support, ours is one of the best funded doctoral programmes in the country. FPM at IIMB offers specialization in nine areas

Eligibility: Candidates should have; a master’s degree in any discipline, (10+2+3+1 or 2 pattern) with at least 55 percent aggregate marks; or a professional qualification like CA, ICWA, CS, with at least 55 percent aggregate marks or a 4 year/8-semester bachelor’s degree (10+2+4 pattern) with at least 60 percent aggregate marks

We encourage candidates to submit valid test scores from either CAT (2011), or GRE/ GMAT/ GATE/ JRF/ NET. But will also accept applications without any test score. Candidates taking the graduate record examinations (GRE) must have the official result reported to the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB). The GRE code number for IIMB Fellow Programme in Management is 7385

Condition: The Master’s degree or equivalent qualification/bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification should be; from any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956; or recognized by the Ministry of HRD, govt of India. The bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent

 

Please note that those candidates who have applied on the basis of their master’s degree will have to meet the 55% marks stipulation, and those who have applied on the basis of their bachelor’s degree will have to meet the 60% marks stipulation. Non-fulfillment of these conditions will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission

Selection: Suitable candidates will be called to Bangalore for a Research Aptitude Test (RAT) and interview for final selection. Selection will be based on applicant’s performance in CAT/ GRE/ /GMAT/ GATE/ JRF/NET as applicable, past academic performance, work experience, and aptitude for research

Duration of the Programme: Students are expected to complete the programme within 5 years. Some students have completed the programme in less than 4 years

The maximum duration of the programme is 7 years
