Announces admission to the following programme commencing from June, 2011
Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Aided Management (PGDCM) (18th session) 2011-13
Objective: The objective of the PGDCM programme is to create business professionals who know how to apply ICT (Information and Communication Technology) in making a difference to business and economy
The programme is an outcome of the felt need for weaving a general management programme around ICT to develop a business curriculum that would train mangers for an increasingly global and information-rich future
The programme covers the following spheres of learning; understanding different domains of organizations and related functional areas of management; understanding the role of ICT in management; understanding of ICT-enabled enterprise systems; and understanding tools and methodologies of business analytics with the aim of using data creatively for better decision making
Curriculum for PGDCM: Students complete their compulsory course requirements in the first year. The list of compulsory courses is developed around the following five building blocks; understanding the basics of disciplines and functions of business management; understanding human and organization behavior; understanding the environment and society; knowing ICT tools well; and knowing application areas of ICT. In the second year, the students choose elective courses from functional and ICT-related topics. An ICT-related course or topic is one that either dwells on ICT or discusses use of ICT in one or more functional areas
Selection criteria for PGDCM programme: PGDCM applicants should appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT). Applicants are advised to refer to the CAT advertisement released in leading newspapers on 22nd August, 2010
CAT eligibility for PGDCM is the same as for PGDM
The interview short list will be prepared based on multiple criteria such as CAT score, academic performance and relevant work experience. The short listed candidates will appear for group discussion/personal interview (GD/PI), which will also evaluate candidates’ competence and interest in ICT
How to apply for PGDCM programme: At the time of registration for CAT 2010, select PGP-PGDCM along with other options. There will be no separate application form, payment, or test for admission to this programme
