ADMISSION NOTIFICATION for Session 2008-2009
Applications are invited for admission to
TWO YEAR POST GRADUATE PROGRAMME IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
(with specialization in Marketing / HRD / Finance - MBA Seats 30)
(with specialization in International Business – MIBA Seats 30)
RESERVATION : SC: 15%; ST: 7.5% and PD : 3% and OBC (As per GOI Rule, if applicable)
PAID SEATS : 10 (MBA 05 & MIBA 05)
SUPERNUMERARY SEATS: Foreign Nationals: 15 % (For details contact International Student Centre, Banaras Hindu University).
WHO CAN APPLY: Candidates should have a bachelor degree under 10+2+3 pattern/ a degree in Agriculture, Technology, Medicine, Education or law/ a post graduate degree in any discipline under 10+2+3 pattern with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from any University/Institution recognized by AIU/AICTE. For SC/ST candidates 45% mark is required. (Candidates should also fulfill the minimum eligibility requirements for appearing in CAT 2007).
Candidates appearing in the final year of the qualifying examination can also apply provided they furnish the proof of having met the minimum eligibility criteria by October 05, 2008 after completing all the requirements for obtaining the qualifying degree before June 30, 2008.
HOW TO APPLY :
Step 1: Candidates seeking admission to FMS-BHU will be required to purchase CAT 2007 (conducted by IIMs) Bulletin available from leading Banks from July 16 to August 16, 2007 and appear in CAT 2007 on SUNDAY, November 18, 2007. Completed CAT Application forms should be directly sent to the concerned IIM on or before September 08, 2007 (for details see CAT advertisements in leading newspapers in mid July 2007). Selection will be made strictly on the basis of the combined Merit acquired by a Candidate in CAT 2007, Group Discussion and Interview.
The FMS, BHU uses CAT for short-listing the candidates for its two-year full time post-graduate programmes in management. IIMs have no role either in selection process or in the conduct of the programme.
Step 2: Candidates are also required to register at FMS, BHU through separate application form to be obtained from Faculty of Management Studies, BHU, Varanasi from July 18, 2007 either in person against crossed SBI Bank Draft (MICR) /Banker’s Cheque of Rs. 650/- (Rs. 350/- for SC/ST) till November 23, 2007 OR by post through a requisition along with Crossed SBI Bank Draft (MICR) of Rs. 700/- (Rs. 400/- for SC/ST) and self-addressed envelope of 32x26 cm. till November 1, 2007. The Bank Draft/Banker’s Cheque should be drawn in favour of the Registrar, Banaras Hindu University payable at SBI, BHU Main Branch (Code 0211). SC/ST applicants must submit a copy of Caste Certificate for obtaining application form at concessional rate. Completed application form be submitted to ‘The Dean, Faculty of Management Studies, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi – 221005’ on or before November 24, 2007.
