Invites applications for AICTE approved two year full time Post Graduate Diploma in Hospital Management (ASCI-PGDHM) 2011-13

The ASCI post graduate diploma in hospital management (ASCI-PGDHM) responds to this need. It aims to produce young professionals equipped with high-quality skills that are required to build fulfilling careers in management in the healthcare sector

The need for professionally trained hospital managers is being increasingly felt in Indian Hospitals, whether private or public, new or old, large or small

The ASCI-PGDHM produces not just hospital administrators but hospital-focused managers with a firm understanding of healthcare delivery as a business

ASCI-PGDHM program: The ASCI post graduate diploma in hospital management (ASCI-PGDHM) is an AICTE-approved two-year full-time residential programme. The programme has an approved capacity of 30 students per batch

The Programme is conducted over 4 semesters, comprising 3 semesters of classroom teaching, practicals and field work, and one semester on internship at healthcare institutions

Course curriculum: The course curriculum has been designed to cover the conceptual and qualitative skills needed by administrators/managers in contemporary hospitals. While hospitals are at the core, the program also deals with associated sectors in the healthcare arena having direct interface with hospitals

The programme is rigorous and practice oriented with a teaching approach that combines classroom lectures with case studies, team discussions and presentations and field visits to a wide variety of hospitals. Students are provided ample opportunities for being engaged in live projects with hospitals

Unique combination of operational and strategic inputs, coupled with cross-functional perspective and application-orientation prepare its graduates to make a mark for themselves in the industry

Internship: During Internship, the participants undergo training for a minimum of sixteen weeks with a hospital or a healthcare organization. The internship is designed to help bridge the sometimes-significant gap between academic preparation and the field of practice

Faculty: Faculty from the healthcare related industry complements high competent core faculty

Placements: Participants who have completed the programme have found placements in leading hospitals in the country and abroad. Location: The programme is housed at the center for healthcare management, ASCI at its college park campus at Banjara Hills in Hyderabad, the healthcare capital of the country. Eligibility and admission process for PGDHM batch VI (2011-13)

Eligibility: Graduate in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks at the aggregate and a valid AIMA-MAT (management aptitude test) score of 550 or higher. Candidates with Medical and Life Sciences background are encouraged to apply. MAT scores of September 2010, December, 2010, February, 2011, and May, 2011 will be considered for admission

Fee: Rs 5.9 Lacs inclusive of Academics, Boarding, Lodging and Recreations

Last date for accepting applications is 31st May, 2011

All applicants meeting the eligibility criteria will be called for group discussions and personal interviews, and will be notified of the dates within two working days of receipt of completed applications

Group discussion/personal interview will be held between 08th-11th June, 2011 in New Delhi, Hyderabad, and Kolkata

The list of selected candidates will be put up on the ASCI website by mid-June 2011

Classes will commence in the first week of July 2011
