ADMISSION NOTICE FOR M.B.B.S. COURSE SESSION 2005-06

The Entrance Examination will be conducted on Sunday the 29th May, 2005 from 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. at the following centres viz:(1) Pondicherry, (2) Chennai, (3) Hyderabad, (4) Delhi, (5) Kolkata and (6) Thiruvananthapuram.

Applications are invited in the prescribed form supplied by this Institute only from Resident Indian Nationals and should have studied in schools located in India in the preceding two (2) years for admission to FIRST M.B.B.S. Course for the Session 2005-06, commencing from August 2005.

Candidates fulfilling the following conditions only need to apply:

AGE:Should complete the age of 17 Years on or before 31st December 2005 (i.e.) they should have been born on or before 1st January, 1989.

QUALIFICATION: Should have passed or currently appearing for Higher Secondary Certificate Examination under 10 + 2 + 3 pattern with Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany & Zoology and English as subjects of study or equivalent examination subject to recognition by the Pondicherry University and must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany & Zoology and English individually and must have obtained not less than 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Botany & Zoology for general candidates and 40% marks for SC/ST candidates.

Requisition for supply of application form and prospectus by post should reach the REGISTRAR (ACADEMIC) JIPMER, PONDICHERRY-605006 ON OR BEFORE 3rd MARCH, 2005, alongwith a Crossed Demand Draft, drawn in favour of ‘ACCOUNTS OFFICER, JIPMER’, PAYABLE AT PONDICHERRY and two slips (preferably stickers) of candidate’s postal address of 2” x 3” size (to send the prospectus with application to the candidates). The Bank draft should be Rs. 250/- for General candidates and Rs.150/- for Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe candidates.

PLEASE ENSURE THAT THE BANK DRAFT BEARS THE CODE NO. OF THE ISSUING BRANCH, AND DRAWEE BRANCH AND DATE OF ISSUE AS WELL AS SIGNATURES OF THE BANK OFFICIALS AND THE AMOUNT WRITTEN BOTH IN FIGURES AND WORDS. PROSPECTUS WILL NOT BE SENT IF DEMAND DRAFT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE TO THE BANKERS HERE.

For supply of Prospectus and application form, Cheque / Postal Order / Money Order will not be accepted. This Institute will not be responsible for any Postal delay in receipt of Prospectus by the candidates and further correspondence, if any, will not be entertained. Candidates are advised to send their requisition in advance before the due date.

Applications purchased under SC/ST quota cannot be used by the general candidates.

PROSPECTUS AND APPLICATION FORM CAN ALSO BE OBTAINED IN PERSON AT THE INSTITUTE’S OFFICE ON PAYMENT OF RS.250/- (IN RESPECT OF GENERAL CANDIDATES) AND RS.150/- (IN RESPECT OF SC/ST CANDIDATES) IN CASH DURING OFFICE HOURS TILL 31ST MARCH, 2005 (THURSDAY) ON ALL WORKING DAYS.

THE LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF FILLED IN APPLICATIONS FROM THE CANDIDATES IS 31ST MARCH, 2005 (THURSDAY). APPLICATIONS RECEIVED AFTER THE DUE DATE WILL BE SUMMARILY REJECTED.
