Notice for B.Pharmacy entrance test-2010

An objective type (MCQ) entrance test for admission to B.Pharmacy course in govt college of Pharmacy, Rohroo and private un-aided B.Pharmacy colleges in the state of H.P., for the session 2010-11 will be held on June 11, 2010 (Friday) on behalf of the director, technical education, vocational and industrial training, Himachal Pradesh at Sundernagar, Distt Mandi at Shimla, Mandi, Dharamsala and Hamirpur examination centres for which the applications on the prescribed OMR application form available in the prospectus are invited from the eligible candidates

The last date for receipt of application forms complete in all respects either by hand or by registered/speed post in the office of the Deputy Registrar (entrance tests) H.P. University, Shimla-5 is 20.05.2010 up to 5 p.m. where after no application shall be accepted

Eligibility conditions: For admission to 85% state quota seats, the candidate(s) should be bonafide/domicile of Himachal Pradesh. For admission to 15% all India quota seats, there is no such condition of bonafide/domicile of Himachal Pradesh

Education qualification: Should have passed 10+2 examination from a recognized board/university with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects, Mathematics/Biology/Bio-Technology/Computer Science

Pass in 10+2 from national open school (NOS) New Delhi with the above subjects shall not be an entry qualification for taking this entrance test

Management quota seats i.e. 33.1/3% of total state quota seats shall also be filled up by respective private colleges on the basis of merit of marks obtained in the entrance test

Age/date of birth: Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1985 are eligible. However, in case of SC/ST and physically handicapped candidates upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years i.e. who were born on or after October 01, 1980 are eligible

Procedure for obtaining the prospectus

By cash: for prescribed application form and detailed information etc the prospectus can be obtained at the university examination enquiry-cum-sale counter no 1, Library building (basement) Summer Hill, Shimla-5 from 26.04.2010 to 20.05.2010 during working hours on payment of Rs 1150/- for general and other categories, and Rs 650/- for SC/ST categories only

By post: The request for obtaining the prospectus by post can only be addressed to the deputy registrar (entrance tests) H.P. University, Shimla-171005 accompanied by crossed IPOs/bank draft amounting to Rs 1200/- for general and other categories, and Rs 700/- for SC/ST categories drawn in favour of the finance officer, H.P. University, Shimla-5. No request for obtaining the prospectus by post will be entertained after 10.05.2010. While applying for obtaining the prospectus by post, the candidate must write that the B.Pharmacy prospectus-2010 is required and complete mailing address in capital letters along with telephone number

It will be the entire responsibility of the candidates to procure the prospectus well in time and submit the application form complete in all respects within the stipulated date. The University will not be responsible for any postal delay for non-receipt or misplacement or loss of prospectus in transit. All disputes are subject to legal jurisdiction of courts in Shimla only.
